We loved the echo and decided to get a dot for the bedroom. It works perfectly for what we need. We use it to play sleep music at night, and the sleep timer is a nice bonus. We also communicate when we’re in separate rooms and that feature works well too. Sound quality isn’t as good as the echo, but it works great for a bedroom/bathroom. Good purchase.

Ok so let’s establish some things straight away I love my Apple products they fot my life like a glove. When I tried my Alexa dot I was a little impressed she understood me when Siri barely seemed to be paying attention. Alexa like to play Jeapordy Siri doesn’t play. You know you get into a relationship, you want it to be forever then you realize it’s not going to work you ease into the idea you never expect glove to come from the nex devise on the counter and for you guys to click so well. Alexa’s twin is dating my best friend they love each other too.

Starting point for a newbie to Smart Home automation. Unreal the number of cool things you can do with this thing!!! Every day I find new ‘Skills’ to use & play around with. Definitely in the top 5 coolest things I’ve bought in the last few years!

This thing is really fun and neat. I can control my thermostat via voice controls, and can also play fun games with the speaker itself. I do wish the smaller version I have was a bit louder, but it is what it is.

I love this little thing. I bought it and a nest the same day and it is an awesome setup. For $50 it's a great value and since I already had Amazon Prime, I get to listen to Amazon music which is a pretty decent service. The speakers are a little weak but that's ok with me since I plan on hooking it to a small powered speaker. I think Amazon has done an excellent job offering a completely functioning intro device for a reasonable price. I plan on buying another dot for my office and a full sized echo for the kitchen. If you have Amazon prime and $50 to spend it's a must buy.

The Echo Dot (2nd Generation) is much smaller than the regular Echo, but it has the same functions as its big brother. The sound quality is pretty good considering its size. I would give it 5 stars if it can also use battery as power.

The quality seems good as it is made of plastic, and doesn’t have moving parts just four buttons and a couple of plug in ports. 3. It is geared for someone with good WiFi, a bit of technical understanding, and clear pronunciation as it has a tendency to misunderstand those with thick accents. 4. The pros include availability, cost, growing skills, and good instructions. 5. The cons include some limitations to understanding, need for other items to round out functionality. 6. There are some alternatives available, but some come at a higher cost and the market is adopting this product well at this time. 7. At this time, the product was worth the cost.

this item is great as a gift. this cost is great, especially since it has the main features of the taller Alexa. this is the cheaper version for people that just want an extra unit in a spare room or one for the kids or an older family member that is not into tech products. this unit unlike the taller version does not have a great speaker with deep base as the taller version. i like this unit, but for my money i want to hear music as clear as possible. you really get what you pay for. i would rather have the larger version, but for a gift this is the way to go. I only wish that this would control more products, like your tv. i have seen a new commercial on tv where Google play can change the tv channel by just asking. i may have to look into that. i only hope that Amazon will allow that in the near future.

My friend was very pleased with this gift and said it was pretty easy to set up. She's enjoying using it for music, weather, alarms, etc.

I really thought that the Amazon echo line of products were a unique technology and probably more of passing trend, but I must say they are Amazing... I bought the first device to try out some home automation features and to listen to some music. After spending a few days exploring all the things that can be enabled with Alexa skills, I am a devoted user. So much so that I have them in my offices and have upgraded to the bigger device (The Echo)! Voice recognition is amazing for such a small unit and the sound playback in its built in speaker is great for a device of this size!

This has a lot of uses. Can get general info, news, weather, traffic, sports with just a question. Can handle reminders and multiple timers. Can stream music and radio stations (weak speakers are the only drawback). Can help control smart home items like lights and thermostats. Many uses, should get good mileage out of it, if you commit and go all in.

The Echo Dot is a great smart tool for your home at an amazing price. Amazon has partnered with a vast array of providers to make the Echo Dot able to perform a wealth of functions...It is so much more than a door to purchase from Amazon. I've only had mine a month but I have enjoyed receiving the daily news, a devotionall, the weather, home tips, music from both radio stations and services like Pandora and Amazon Music and a shopping and to do list. The skills that Alexa has in her resource library keep growing and I'm excited to see what new options she has for us this year.
