Great for a first timer, and fun to use. Makes for a great gift!

Already had an echo for upstairs and wanted something smaller for downstairs. This is perfect! Didn’t have to wait to order it as it was in stock and the reduced price was right in line with amazon. Synchronized with lights and my Sonos system.

Makes all my home automated devices voice activated. Pair it with a decent price bluetooth speaker and it works out cheaper than getting the regular echo.

The Echo Dot is a great smart tool for your home at an amazing price. Amazon has partnered with a vast array of providers to make the Echo Dot able to perform a wealth of functions...It is so much more than a door to purchase from Amazon. I've only had mine a month but I have enjoyed receiving the daily news, a devotionall, the weather, home tips, music from both radio stations and services like Pandora and Amazon Music and a shopping and to do list. The skills that Alexa has in her resource library keep growing and I'm excited to see what new options she has for us this year.

It is a great fun affordable little product! I use mine for speaker, ask the weather, as a timer, for games and many more things.

I utilize this DOT in my living room. Main uses are controlling Philps Hue lights and music playback via my audio system (bluetooth). No issues, easy setup.

This review is long overdue, I have purchase 3 Echo Dots and an Echo and I can't be more pleased, I have one in each bedroom along with the Echo in the kitchen, aside Alexa helping out with all kinds of things (timers, making lists,checking the weather, etc etc) a cool feature is also being able to call a room from any device. If I'm in the kitchen I can call my kids in there room or the kids can call the kitchen from there room, it might be a lil lazy but it is a nice feature along with all the many others. I love my Echo and Echo Dot.

Have an Echo and two Dots. I am using this one to play music and talk radio through my stereo receiver. Sounds really good and is easy for my family to use.

Great deal with fire stick, saves a lot and now access with voice

My wife's grandmother came to visit us from Puerto Rico and Loved having this in her room. We got one for her as a gift and she is back home and loves it. Just loves all the features and all the things it does.Easy Setup even for a Grandmother.

Bought this to have background music while doing things. Love how you can just ask it questions. Also discovered the ambient sounds skill and use it when I go to bed. Very relaxing. Eventually will do some lighting as well. Great little gadget.

This Alexa Echo is one of the innovative products I owned. I love the fact that Alexa is accurate and thorough through all our commands, requests and conversations. It is certainly entertaining to have few of these intelligent products at home.

The Echo Dot is a perfect option for smaller rooms. The built in speaker is actually pretty decent for its size. It would definitely be enough for bedrooms.

The Echo Dot is a great little device. I actually take it with me to work and back home every day. I love that i can play music, pod casts, and Rush Limbaugh. All without ever stopping my work or at home I put her ( Alexa ) on my night stand. And she is my little assistant. I ask almost anything. (Alexa what time is it, whats the weather, play oldies, add milk to my shopping list, dim the bedroom lights, how much gas is in my car, whats 2+2, whats the news today. And much more. The more i ask the more Alexa the more she learns. How have i gone this long without her I dont know.

This is my third Echo device, They are great little speakers and answer all your questions, play music, tell you the weather. Love them.

I think the concept is cool and this works well for what it works with. I have some Iris plugs and the Samsung Smartthings hub. My grandson loves to have Alexa play music. I linked it to Spotify. A couple of notes. It is near my tv soundbar which seems to prevent it from hearing if the tv is on. Not usually an issue. Note that locks and garage doors won't connect, which makes total sense. I would like to be able to ask Alexa if the garage door is open. I connected the dot to my Vuzio sound bar. I still need to diagnose but it suddenly drops whike connected and I have to re-pair it. May be that my phone is paired to the soundbar so I will have to play with that. I wanted home automation and for the price, the dot is a cool toy to add. For music, I like the full experience so wouldn't use an echo anyway.

I've used Alexa for alarms, news/weather, time of day, music play (from previous Amazon purchases). Usually it works great, but sometimes needs to be reset. The same way you reset a modem, by turning it off and back on.
