This is not bad for the price. Sound is good for the price.

I purchased the Echo dot for my kid and she loved to call Alexa everyday. Installation was easy and it was easy to use. I am using amazon music unlimited. The Alexa didn't say "OK" for confirmation, which I want to change as an option.

Amazon is gonna kill it with the dot and their pricing. If you use Amazon at all for shopping you'll like it. If you are a prime member you think it's great. If you are a prime and music unlimited member you will think this is awesome.

I added this Echo Dot to my collection of voice command toys and this one sits at my office. It does great for most voice commands but I am a little surprised that playback quality is just OK. I am super happy with my normal Echo but I would say purchase this to run more smart home features and depend on the bigger Echo for music playback.

Great gadget At a very reasonable price. Grand kids love to ask Alexa questions, such as how many houses in the world ? Alexa answered them.

great product - would recommend - five stars - quality product - ive got 3 echo devices - 2 original towers and then got this thing as a 3rd for kids room... alexas began conversating and literally ECHOING with my loud voice so I had to move one into my office... give these things some distance because the microphone sensitivity is OPTIMAL - to the point where your smart home audio prompt devices start talking to eachother... but incredibly useful for lazy tasks like not wanting to get up to turn off lights, or reduce AC temp on NEST... many uses... indeed...

Great sound for everyday use, excellent Alexa voice control

I bought this as a gift, and have had the opportunity to play with it. In works very well with the Hue Lighting System. Plays music and sounds great.

The Echo Dot is great to have on the nightstand to use an alarm clock, listen to music or ask about the weather first thing in the morning.

This is a great little device! I believe it's my 4th. I have it outside linked to speakers by my pool. Works perfectly!

My wife and I picked up two of these for our home. They're fun little gadgets. It's nice being able to just say "alexa, add butter" and now butter is added to the grocery list on the alexa app on your phone. It connects via bluetooth (or hardwire) for using an external speaker if the onboard speaker isn't loud enough for you. I had a bit of trouble getting it to play my amazon music, it kept wanting me to subscribe to the monthly music service vs prime that I already have. Some of the automated things I like have been: what time is it? whats the weather? and set an alarm for X time. I do like that you can automate other parts of your home too, I just wish the wifi bulb setup wasn't so expensive. I also wish you could change her name! You only get three options. Alexa, Echo, or Amazon

I have purchased 4 of these for our home, these are a definite must buy for anyone with a smart home. It was so easy to setup with our existing smartthings hub so that we can voice control items in our home. Its nice to be able to walk through the house and turn on lights for rooms you are about to go to with full hands. This really becomes handy when going down to our basement with groceries or laundry and don't have to worry about turning on a light switch. I would recommend anyone starting out of already invested in a smart home to make the $50 investment.

I bought both this and the Google Home at the same time for work related purposes. As of now, the Exho is the only one still plugged in. The Home works fine but it just didn’t seems to have as many possibilities and as good of results.

This is the second Dot. It is in the bedroom. Easy set up.

For the price I think it is a good buy, allows me to easily stream my music. Also, operate my lighting just using my voice. I use it on a daily basis.

With new Alexa skills being added everyday, the echo dot is a wonderful toy. The setup is simple and once setup it works great. There are challenges initially as it gets accustomed to your voice and diction, but over time it improves.

This little bundle of technology is truly amazing, and works great for me. I actually bought two of these, one for upstairs and downstairs. I couldn't be happier. I've got one hooked to the surround sound in the living area, and the other to the sound system upstairs in my office. I can listen to jazz or gospel music whenever I want, with just my voice. Some cons: Speaker is a little weak on it's own. Having to keep it plugged in a little bit of a downer too, but there is a battery pack you can buy and hook it up for taking it places. Problem solved.

I love playing the games on this and the other stuff like the weather and general info it can provide. Overall review of amazing!

Already own an original Echo as well as the new Echo Show. This one as well as another Dot I use in my other rooms. I had a huge Bluetooth speaker above my fireplace mantle and this was perfect for this dot. Works great, setup was super easy, paired with the speaker immediately and has not dropped the connection since. If you haven't owned an Echo yet, the things you can do with it now are almost endless. I have it connected to my smart Phillips HUE lights, my Harmony Home Theater remote, use it to play Amazon Music, etc. Highly recommend!

As a first purchase, the Echo Dot is an affordable amazingly great entry-level product. It does everything the Amazon Echo does, but without the high quality speaker. For the size, the Echo Dot has a great sound, but doesn't compare to the Echo. As an add-on, the Echo dot is an EXCELLENT way to spread the goodness that is "Alexa" throughout your home. To be able to get information from the internet vocally from anywhere in my home is just amazing, & the speech recognition is also just as amazing. I praise this product to everyone!
