I bought this for my boyfriend's daughter as a Christmas present. It links well with their Echo Show that has the screen. I like that you can sync them together and use it as an intercom between his office and her room.

If your looking for an Alexa device I would highly recommend this unit. Compact, good sound quality and responsive.

I purchase the Echo Dot 2nd generation as a starter device for my "smart home" plans. I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise my dot soon became an everyday part of my life. From looking up phone numbers, answering questions, turning on the lights---Alexa is always there and waiting to help. Is Alexa a full fledged AI? Nope. But she will do until one comes along. 5 stars

Easy to install, operator's deficiency does affect it's effectiveness, usefulness limited by the nature and topic the inquiry. Price point is okay. Wish it may have a built in speaker like Google's Home device.

Easy to set up and once you download the app it's ready to go right out of the box, responds immediately and picks up commands very well

After having one for 6 months, we decided to add 2 more to the house. One for the main room and one in each bedroom. Combined with Amazon Unlimited Music, I'm able to listen to anything at anytime in the house. Love it

I have a two-story house and my main echo plus is downstairs. But the Dot is an excellent secondary device for accessing the various features and since I don’t play music through this device it is more than sufficient.

This is our 4th one. We use them in the kids rooms too, for music and white noise at night. Easy to use and whole family loves.

This Echo is fantastic - I can get music, reminders, wake up calls - score for games - Haven't been disappointed yet!

When the original Echo released a couple years ago, it was 4x the price of this little guy, and worth every penny. The newer Echo Dot has all the same AI technology, and only downgrades the powerful speaker of the original. It's still loud enough to fill a small room and is decent enough quality for non-audiophiles. If you want to venture into this new world of voice activated assistants, this is a great place to start... and if you want a speaker upgrade later, you can still connect a separate set via cable or bluetooth.

Small in size but still mighty in sound. External speaker not necessary for me, and white color blends perfectly with kitchen decor.

I have this connected to a blue tooth speaker and it is just like the full version of Alexa only for much less. Definitely recommend

I knew that you could ask questions like the ones you type in the google bar but controlling the thermostat of my house, making calls, adding items to my shopping list with voice commands has made my life much simpler

I purchased the Amazon Echo Dot for my wife and she thinks it's the best thing in the world. While you have to keep it plugged in, the wireless connectivity is excellent. It connected easily and the App works great on our phones. We love how we can ask it questions about the weather, sports, news, and other topics. I inputted my Pandora account and I can now listen to my music through it, or the Aux speaker input. This device is so great, we bought more as gifts for family members. Really an impressive use of technology.

For such a small speaker, it does a great job. Easy to connect, but sometimes the connection drops if you move it on a desk or counter while still plugged in on power. Not too fond of Bing as a search engine.

so far so good. no issues that we've ran into. we just opened it from christmas. so we're still figuring it out. but its small, but just as effective im sure as the taller ones. easy to set up and get it working. alexa responds fast. like there doesnt seem to be any idle time that takes a while for it to "wake up."
