I highly recommend purchasing the Alexa Echo if you do not already have it. The Dot works great as a companion to the echo. I have two dots that I use in my bedroom and in my kitchen to play music though all three devices while I am cleaning or just listening to music and I love to be able to add things to my shopping lists from any room or ask about the weather. I don't know what I would do without Alexa! The dots are great but don't compare to the echo as a speaker.

The echo dot is perfect for a small space. I love all the skills it has. The speaker on it is pretty good for its size.

The longer you use thing thing, the more useful it becomes. I'm not a big music buff, but "Alexa, play classical" when I sit down to read is convenient. There are the expected what's-the-weather, set-a-timer, and remind-mes, but finding out I could connect to my Todoist on my phone both for todos and an ongoing shopping list was a revelation and fun. This weekend I'm going to try our a voice remote to control my Roku. The only negative thing I have to say is that there are just too many "skills" to wade through to find anything useful, and not all of them I've tried were worth the time and effort - oh, and Alexa doesn't understand me as well when I have my teeth out.

Great add-on with Alexa or used by itself. It does have a speaker but easily connects to a blue-tooth or wired in speaker.

Very helpful item, really helpful in making and keeping appointments, knowing the weather, and in playing music I like.

I use it everyday. I can listen to music while doing the dishes and don't have to log in the app just to "thumbs down" a song. I can just say "Alexa, thumbs down" and check the weather. It's very neat.

It does what it's supposed to do. It's handy and light. Great for use any where and highly recommended!

I don't know how I got along without Alexa. It is so easy to get the weather, play playlists and I just add items to my shopping list as I think of them and they are on my phone when I get to the store.

Admittedly, we do not use this to its fullest extent. It gets used mainly as a music player and for other entertainment purposes and silly things like jokes, but it is so much fun to use. It's been easy for the kids to get to know how to use and makes it so easy to have music playing in different rooms in the house. I am looking to connect smart bulbs to it to add to its functionality. It is not as handy searching items as Google home maybe, but we rarely use it for that anyway.

Bought for my girlfriend and she wasn't very excited at first. Then when she realized how much it helped her with cooking and could listen to any of her favorite bands she quickly loved it. It's great.

Love the Echo Dot. Small, compact, and smart. Very intuitive and easy to use. Helps get the day started.

Alexa is great! Use it for so many things. At night we use it to sleep. Alarm in the morning. Music in the day.

Have both 2nd and 3rd Gen Echo's and this particular one (2nd Gen.)) was purchased to go in a space too small for a Gen. 3 and because the plug is smaller and fits in the otherwise full power strip. Didn't realize how cool they are till I bought them for Christmas gifts......and ironically also received one.. Really handy, entertaining and both versions sound great when playing music! Can't believe how handy and helpful they are....love 'em.
