The ability to speak commands and/ or questions is a game changer. Echo Dot is like Siri on steroids. I use it to control my lights, keep up with current events, play music and do recipe conversations. But, If sound quality is important, you may want to consider the larger Echo for playing music. I replaced the Dots in my kitchen and living room with Echos (for the richer sound when playing music) and moved the Dots to the bedroom and bath.

I thought having something like Alexa would be pointless. I finally bought one and have got so much use out of it. It's sensitive to conversations but when spoken to directly it's very useful.

I use alexa daily. I use it as my alarm and to play music I want to use it more to purchase from amazon.

I got these for my kids to use as alarm clocks with music. Bought them blue tooth speakers to use with it. Happy so far. The internal speaker is weak, but it sounds great with an external.

I don't know how I functioned without the Echo. I no longer have to find my phone or paper to set things to do or shopping list. With the ease of just my voice, I can ask for the weather, music, jokes, to define a word, cooking measurements and much more. Alexa picks up with even the softest voice and from a good distance. I have the Echo Dot and Alexa could hear me from in my room, down the hall at about 30 feet. Just bought the light kit and soon connecting my television.

I use this in my room to set alarms and play music with Bluetooth. It's small enough to hide and works great .

I bought this for my son and he loves it. Tells him the weather, the time, set alarms, play music and more.

Originally went to get the echo (recommended) and got talked into the dot. If you have a Bluetooth speakever it's actually better. Basically $100 cheaper and most Bluetooth speakers are much better than the echo. The dot is exactly the same as the echo but with a speaker. So even if you purchase the dot and a Bluetooth speaker, it'll be a better option. We listen to ours every day!! And with the amazon music subscription(3.99/mo.), you can listen to anything you want!

The Amazon Echo Dot device is a good lower level wireless device for voice controlled music, weather etc and I like mostly everything about it. I did find that it lost it's wireless signal one floor below the router which was annoying and inconvenient but overall I give it high marks.

Easy to set up and works well. Power cord could is big for such a small device but there are shorter usb cable sections available. Sound on upgraded models is much better. I chose to pair it with a Sony Bluetooth speaker for much better sound. Some concern about privacy - be prudent!

It is a Christmas gift for my husband, I bought this and the fire stick. They came early and both powered up, haven’t actually programmed it yet gotta wait for Christmas Day when he opens them

I love that i can play Pandora and change stations and volume in the Alexa app on my phone. I leave it on to keep my dog company and change stations throughout the day for him while I'm at work.

Sound not as good for music as I had hoped, but listenable. Spoken word sound quality is great. Love the timer and alarm functions. The tiny size is perfect for a shelf in the kitchen.

I love the ease and quality of this speaker. It's easy to set up and use and sounds great for a little guy

I'll admit I was a skeptic and I hated alexa before I got to know her. She really is helpful! I can start Pandora, find out the weather, etc. My Husband bought extra stuff so that Alexa now can turn our tv on and off and our lights in our living room and bedroom. I think I'll allow her to stay for now. The only thing I do not like is when she talks when she is not being spoken to. I think a lot of that has to do with all the Alexa commercials though.

The dot is a great way for people not to feel insolated, I bought one for my dad who can't get around that well and one for my mother in law. Both of them think the dot is so cool. It allows them access to all kinds of information. And being a suscriber to amazon unlimited music has allowed them all to hear music they never thought they would hear again. My dad calls me whenever he discovers something new alexa can do . These are the best gifts I have ever given.

I have several of these and when they went on sale I bought a couple for gifts. They work just fine when streaming music, or to check the weather or news. Very easy to get them up and running.

Love this for listening to music and setting my alarms for the next day is so simple and quick
