I got this to compare for myself w Google home mini. I have to say they are almost hand in hand. Google mini speaker is a bit louder and has some bass, Alexa does not but she does have AUX connection. So I set it up next to my JBL speaker. Aside from that they are pretty much same

The budget version of the echo, the sound is "good enough" for a non-audiophile to check out a song or two. And it can be connected to you sterio system by mini plug if you want better sound

This second gen echo dot is great for the budget minded. It can do everything its much larger siblings does at a much affordable price. Loved it so much I bought four. Highly recommend.

Nice piece of technology, it can be use as an alarm, small speaker in your room, and ask it for info like weather.

Small product with a big feature called Alexa, this assistant is the best, she can tell you whatever you want to know and it’s always there when you says her name, very helpful, it’s great.

Already owned 1 Echo but wanted one in each bedroom so we can use as an intercom system. Love this feature as well as each of us being able to listen to our music separately at the same time.

I have a couple echos already but this is the first dot I have purchased. I like the small size and that it will connect to a bluetooth speaker for better sound than the original echo.

pleasantly surprised...gr8 fun & practical & a great value....it will play your music pretty well even w/o an additional bluetooth speaker but even better with 1....you do need a smart phone or tablet to access the app (would have liked a pc option) and would have also liked more substantial alarm options (i need something loud) but back to the positives....the voice recognition is amazing and accurate....a pleasure to have

This echo dot took the place of my alarm clock so easy to install, quite and does a great job !

The sound quality is great, and it makes it really easy to listen to pandora or Amazon music. I bought 4 of them!

I purchased the Echo Dot within the past 2 weeks. Small, easy to use & helps w/a few voice commands that I'd otherwise have to do on my own & move to where my receiver is.

I purchased two of these after owning the more expensive Amazon Echo for about 6 months. They work just as well as the full sized Echo for voice controls (smart lights and smart plugs), and will also give you all of the same information as the full sized Echo such as weather and your daily briefing. The one downside is the speaker is not nearly as powerful or as full ranged, but I was expecting this. One of these is in my bathroom and works great for shower time music. If you aren't satisfied with the sound you can hook these up to an external speaker system. Overall I would definitely recommend these. It is a small price to try out Amazon's Echo offering.

Love playing music and getting news updates from this. Pair with a Bluetooth speaker to make it even better.

Dot has good sound for something so small. It handles everything asked of it and was easy to get started

I bought this because I wanted to automate my lighting in my living room with the Hues light bulbs. It works great once you get it all set up, which I think went rather well. I love the list feature on the product and use it all the time. It's so handy to just tell it to add something to your list and when you open the app at the grocery store, there are all the items you added throughout the week. I have a hard time getting it to play music from the various stations and overall the speaker for music isn't great, but it easily pairs with any other wireless speaker. I love getting the emails from Amazon giving me ideas of what I can use Alexa for.

It is worth buying just to see what it can do. Just say Alexia and it lights up waiting to do your bidding. Bottom line get this - I am currently tieing to my home automation system. Stupid simple things like Alexia set a timer for 10 minutes, Alexia tell me about the weather, alexia what appointments do I have. The hardest thing is remembering what Alexia can do and asking Alexia to do it. Obviously if your a Amazon user it just waits for your command

Really enjoy using the Echo Dot! Great sound and super easy to use. All my family wants one so I bought 3 more!

The reason I bought this was simply for the Sonos features-- I am a huge fan of using my voice to control my sonos and my sonos speakers. Well worth it for the sale price tag on this unit.
