Bought this as a gift to accompany an echo. Nice size to listen to Flash Briefing in bedrooms or lull yourself to sleep listening to ocean waves crashing on the shore ZZZZ The smaller size makes it perfect for the kitchen as a timer or to ask it cooking questions. This is probably my 5th purchase of one of these guys. We take ours outside and stream Amazon Unlimited Music on it to make yard yard a bit more enjoyable.

Enjoy using this. We have fun. Easy to use. Set up is a little difficult, but really enjoy it!

I am happy to say the Amazon Echo Dot exceeded my expectations. As an avid music listener, the dot has made doing so a lot easier by way of streaming from my iPhone 6 to the Dot, which I have connected to my speakers via a 3.5mm audio cable. On top of that wonderful feature, I can also use voice commands for my Smart Home equipment which includes Philips lights, GE switches and a Wink hub as well as an ecobee3. I will likely buy 3-4 more.

I use this device for my smart home for lights and thermostat. It is amazing. Would recommend!

This was a great purchase IF you have a nice bluetooth speaker to hook it up to. I actually had an extra Samsung bluetooth speaker and all the audio goes through that. Alexa now controls my phillips hue lights. Kids love asking her questions, getting the weather, news and even reading to me! Not something that is necessary, but makes you feel like you are living in the future. Get this adorable little puck and never be lonely again, lol.

The Echo dot is great if you want the basic functions of Alexa without being too noticeable in your overall decor of the room you install it in like the regular Echo. Still works great as an audio streaming source if connected to a stereo system or some decent wireless speakers like the Definitive W9 speakers which sounds way better than the output of the regular Echo. Any wireless speaker still better than the sound from the regular Echo.

I bought a few of these as Christmas presents. It is a gift that I can add on to for birthday presents, etc. with lighting, plugs and other smart home things. I absolutely love my Amazon Echo Alexa, so I also bought an extra Echo Dot for my bedroom, as I already have one for my kitchen. I Bluetooth'ed a speaker I had to the one in the kitchen so that I can listen to music in there while preparing food,etc. and can have it as loud as I want.

I recently got a google home mini too and i have to say that amazon has the smart home thing down, but google home mini has a better AI for conversation and looking things up.

No need to explain. I think everyone knows how convenient it is to have alexa in every room. This is my third unit and with black Friday discount, I couldn’t resist the offer.

I really wanted to try Amazon's Alexa but didn't want to spend $180 for an Echo. This Echo Dot was perfect for me. It was easy to configure using the Alexa app on my smartphone. I had purchased a Bluetooth speaker to use for the Dot because I wasn't sure about the built in speaker but the built in speaker is great. I'm no audiophile but I find myself using the Dot without the Bluetooth speaker. And my kids love asking Alexa to tell jokes.

Small product, many features. Weather, music, jokes, questions. Decent sound for a 1-room speaker.

If you find it on a sale, and you are in no need of a bigger speakers, then go for it. Good: Understands english with an accent, 8/10 times Supports most smart devices Loud enough for the tiny speakers Able to listen commands from any room in a 1000 ft apartment when playing no music Able to listen commands from across the living room when playing music Bad: Makes up something instead of asking follow up questions, when it could not understand the first question Not sure if it is a firmware issue on the smart device, but suddenly cannot perform operations on a device which used to work seamlessly before

This is a cool gadget to have. I love using it to wake me up, play pandora and to answer questions.

And is only going to get better. We have a couple of these in different rooms around the house. I really like the drop in feature. We can "drop in" on the kids in the basement.

Great product easy to use just have fun anything from listening to music getting forecast or hearing jokes this is the product for all ages yes even babies that are 3 years old

I bought this for my son for his birthday, and he loves it ! It has great sound and is very helpful.

Bought for my parents to get the weather and play music for them when they want. I also have it hooked it to my Amazon prime account so they don't have to worry about setting any of that up and they love it. There's so much more you can do with these things but they're happy with just the few things they use it for as it convenient. I have a wireless one but I'm getting one of these for myself soon so it's always on.

Love this. Use it all the time for radio, alarm clock, ocean sounds to sleep.

Very nice intro smart device. Helpful for simple tasks like what's the weather or when my favorite team plays. Has limitations but for price very nice.

It was worth every penny I spent. Reasonably priced. Cheap warranty. Amazon has excellent functions and learns new ones all the time. The device is super functional for people with disabilities. The app itself requires sighted help and since I’m completely blind it’s a little tricky but once it’s set up I can just talk to her and ask her any question and listen to sports and music. I love my Alexa.
