After sometime owning my Alexa for a while now, I enjoy it. I have also own a smart TV that has Alexa built in and it has made things seeming less easy. Telling my TV to change to different video sources to turning it off is so simple. When I order something from Amazon it is great to ask Alexa how my package is doing and seeing when my package arrives. This has been very helpful AI assistant.

The Amazon Echo, while amusing for fun games like Jeopardy, is most helpful for those looking to add a bit more organization and routine to their life. I use it in the morning for daily news recaps, finding out how long my commute for the day will be, seeing what's on my calendar for the day, and listening to good music. Amazon is working hard to add more and more uses to this item, and for $30, it's a steal.

Having read the reviews and seen the echo commercials on TV I felt like buying a Dot was a low entry point solution. After purchasing and installing the dot we have really enjoyed being able to play music and the other features of the device. When I got smart lighting and a smart plug to go along with It, we have changed the way we think about the house. Now I am going to get additional lights and switches. This has been a good buy.

Use this off the kitchen mainly for music, weather, and general questions. I'm sure it can do much more, but we have no smart home devices to connect to, and we got the little Dot instead of a fancier device mainly for entertainment. Doesn't seem to glitch as much as Siri on my phone! It's hardly a necessity, but for the discounted holiday price, it's a fun device that requires no deep tech knowledge to operate.

A small smart device that can truly be great when coupled with compatible other smart devices in your home. If you don't already have (or plan to) purchase smart devices, then you may be wasting your money.

This has really good interaction and can give you much information. Weather, headlines, sports and just about anything. You can access any music and so much more. Love it.

The Echo Dot plays clear, but is not that loud. It’s good for small rooms, but if your looking for volume get the Echo with the built in speakers.

I love it so much I bought a second one to put in the living room! Alexa is a ton of fun and very useful. I would suggest buying a smarplug with the echo dot. So worth it!

I like this device only because I’m always losing my remote. And can tell it to play something without having to look for the remote. But there’s times when I have to say echo 10 times before it responds.

I got this and a tp-link outlet for 35. A great deal. I use these in tandem to control lights in my house that are on switches that I need to stay on. They work perfectly.

The echo dot pics up our voices very well - significantly better than the Xbox which I have to scream at to respond. Although there were some challenges in setting it up, once you get the hang of it, it is very simple. We have two echo Dots and there is some confusion in voice recognition between them, but its getting better. It needs to add things to individual shopping lists based on voice recognition rather than adding everything to both mine and my wife's - I thought it was supposed to do this. We particularly enjoy the light control, but the light bulbs are a bit pricey.

I love the price but it's not mobile and it's needs to be plugged into a wall circuit. otherwise its great and if that's ok with you the value for the price is good

The dot was easy to set up and ready to use in minutes. When speaking to Alexa, I can be across the room, so I don't have to stop what I am doing to give Alexa a request. The sound from the Dot is not so good, but I have hooked it up to a bluetooth speaker.

Originally I purchased the Echo and due to poor speaker quality chose the dot. I pair the dot with my Bose Soundlink Speaker and have great sound with a perfect assistant.

Added this to the rest of my Alexa hardware. Use it for an intercom between my 3 floor home. Also everywhere music is great. Many useful abilities. All works together well

The Echo Dot has proven to be a great digital assistant in a convenient small size. While the sound quality for Bluetooth streaming is fine but not superb, the Alexa features make this gadget more than worth the incredibly tiny price tag. From weather to sports scores to news, Alex provides a ton of information at your voice's command (and it's getting smarter, with new features/skills being added all the time).

I enjoy being able to get information so easily without having to get my phone out. Alexa is still learning, so she doesn't know everything just yet but I still enjoy her.

After owning the echo dot for a month I realize that I need more of them. The speaker on the echo dot is not great, so pair it to your sound bar for better quality sound.
