This is absolutely a must have item, or several of them, for any smart home. Works great with so many products. (Harmony hub, TP-Link smart plugs, Sonos speakers)

I love these little dots. Low profile, great sound. Perfect for small rooms

I have the full size echo and the dot for some reason doesn't responds as good as the echo. Not good for listening to music. Very tinny sound. Ok if you need it to run other items in your house.

I'm a tech junkie and probably spend too much money it. I was lucky enough to get the Amazon Echo when it came out for beta testing years ago. I've been obsessed with it ever since. The dot is the perfect addition to the bedroom. Okra bout great for music but is just fine for ambient sounds when you're going to sleep. She controls the nest, our Philips hue lights and soon she'll wrote with my sonos. Yaaas!

I setup home automation for a living and this device works great for voice command. Speaker quality however for music is not the best, so don’t buy if you are going to ask Alexa to play music for you through it. You won’t be happy with the sound.

I've had this for about a month now and I love it. When I ask it to play music it always picks great stations and I can always favor or dislike them if need be. It's also been great to have in the kitchen as I can ask it how many tbs I need etc. I know it can do a lot more than I use it for so I'll have to continue my research but I do get emails on it's capabilities since they know I bought one.

Echo Dot has a lot of functionality from playing music to quick ordering. Fun and useful.

I got this item on sale. Overall, it's a cool little gadget. However, Alexa appears to be very particular about what commands you can use to have it automate smart devices functions in the home.

We bought dots as presents as the are user friendly and simple for kids and those not of the "internet generation" to use to play music, find out weather and more

I am liking it so far. It’s full of knowledge. I bought it mainly to get in to having smart home setup. Haven’t tested that feature out yet but I’m sure it’s great

We have 3 in each of our kids rooms and the absolutely love them. Whether it's playing kid music (which you can set perimeters on) or playing games. It definitely keeps them entertained. They set their own alarms and even ask what the weather will be like to help them decide what to wear. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Going to purchase 3 more for our office, media room, and guest room.

I love Alexa. Does exactly what it is supposed to interacts with all of my smart home devices and will even order my dinner for me. If only she could cook it too!

Clean appearance. Sound is more than adequate for 35'x25' room. Easy setup. Life is easier.

The echo is OK but it needs more work with commands. I was really impressed with the dot when I first got it, but after a few weeks I found I could get a lot more information with Googles okay google in asking my question. All we really use the Echo dot for now is music and weather. Like I said it's OK for what it can do for us at the $49.00 price tag. The speakers in the Echo Dot are really good for it's size. for the apps not that great but just good enough to keep it

I've mostly just been using this to listen to music while just telling it to play pandora and iheart radio stations. it works pretty well even with the skip feature in pandora. aside from that i really haven't used it much yet but its handy for music when i'm busy working on something or getting around to go away The voice recognition is pretty good and the little speaker is decent for its size.

Really good with the general stuff you can do with it. My only issue is that I can play a radio station off of it. Well maybe I just haven't figured that out yet.

The whole family loves Alexa. She plays music with Bluetooth to the Bose speakers or by itself. It answers most of my questions. I can't wait to hook up my Ecobee.

I initially wanted this because I thought it would be fun to play with. However, on top of being fun, it has been useful, and has opened up a world of productivity for me and my family. It has great voice recognition, even from across the room, and understands well. Our mistake was putting it right next to our sound bar. That makes it hard to give commands when there is sound coming out of the sound bar already.

I purchased this for myself and family after reading a few reviews. Could not decide between the echo dot the echo. I was told that you need blue tooth speakers but you don't, the dot has speakers that work just fine. It plays music, adjust the temperature of my thermostats, looms up "some info" as it does have its limits on what it can and can't search for. You have to be very specific when asking a question and it does not allow for a follow, you have to wake it up again to ask a follow up question. It is only the second generation so hopefully it wI'll get better with time.
