Good speaker for being so small. A lot of knowledge from the. Alexa app

Have both this and Google mini and I make more use of the mini than Echo dot. Integrates very will with other smart devices but sound not as powerful and some home theater integration not as flawless as Google mini

These are fun gifts for my kids. I feel Alexa responds better than the Google home. It's fun to be able to control devices with my voice.

I purchased this Echo dot after my husband had a serious accident. I also bought a smart plug and paired a lamp to the echo so he could operate the lamp by voice through Alexa since he could not use his arms very well. With the echo he could also communicate with me in another room. I did not have to constantly check on him.

Great device to use for smart home. Be sure to look into each accessories as well. The echo is nice, but the dot seems to respond better.

I had so much fun with my 1st one that I added another to take advantage of the drop in (intercom) functionality within the house. Works great!!! She doesn't always come back with a good answer, but it's still good.

I'm surprised by the number of things this little gadget can do. More skills are added daily. Only minutes to setup. Connected to my light bulbs (Lifx) in 20 seconds. No need to write down items to a shopping list. Just say "Alexa, put brown rice on my shopping list". Then you can take a look at your list on the Alexa app or ask Alexa "what's on my shopping list".

Love it, use it for alarms, reminders, weather, news, and music!

Actually bought a 3rd generation, but had trouble getting it to connect to my home wifi. Reluctantly, decided to try this 2nd generation one, and it connected right away. I am happy with it. A perfect small version of the full Echo. The speaker is noticeably not as nice, but it is suitable for a smaller space. Really enjoy it.

Just as good as their full-size speaker, only cheaper.

The Echo Dot is a great device to use in the home. I'm able to listen to my all my music, news updates, traffic reports, weather reports and can use it to set cooking timers or connect for recipes. I'm also able to connect to my calendar and can create shopping lists and to do lists. This is a great device and I plan on buying 2 more for my children's room.

I heard lots about the echo. It wasn’t until I purchased my own that I realized how helpful it is to have around. I love that you can ask it anything and it responds. I love the grocery list feature and the timer feature those are my most used ones besides playing the games. I definitely have recommended it to family and friends.

This is my first echo / experience with Alexa. I enjoy very much (listening music) and my children enjoy (listening music n asking questions such as how to spell words n president of USA and many many more various qurstions). Price is very reasonable. We take echo to travel with us everywhere. I like it so much, I end up also buy the big Alexa. Definitely recommend!!

It has trouble deciphering what I am saying occasionally - but otherwise, it works perfect in controlling my lamp/TV. Highly recommended!

The only difference between this one and the regular echo is the speaker size, functionality is the same. I have the regular echo in my kitchen, while this one is in the bedroom. The speaker quality is better than a cell phone, but not quite as good as the regular echo. However it does have a aux port in which you can plug it into a better sounding speaker.

I bought this initially because for $40 it looked amusing but it also is very useful. Program your flash report and check on traffic and weather before you leave the house for work. Alexa had me go a different route to work because of a huge accident on the Interstate. Helpful with setting timers when cooking, playing music, telling jokes. Well worth the money!!!
