Purchased the Echo Dot for my husband for Christmas. The price of $39.99 is a great alternative to the larger speaker, priced at $179.99, and it does the same thing! We synched our bedroom lights as well, which is really convenient! The only frustration is that you have to say Alexa every time, and she cannot continue a conversations string. Overall, a fun purchase!

We love our echo dots. We purchased one for each room of the house. It makes life so much smoother by allowing g alarms, timers, reminders, and even drop in calls available all throughout the house. Especially helpful with teenagers! We also have the Phillips hue hooked up to our dots so we can set up routines. We love these gadgets!

Amazon - Echo Dot - White is a cool product. I mainly use it for inquiring about the local weather forecast and playing trivia games. However, my kids are the ones who use it most. They love trivia games, requesting songs and just being silly with Alexa. Even my 1-year old son tries to talk to her. It's quite the entertaining and informative gadget.

Decent sound and works well. Good introduction to Alexa.

I bought this as a gift for my son. I have two myself and they semlessly connect to my Echo device. This was a great deal from Best Buy.

Our new favorite family game is "Who will Echo Listen to?" To find out who gets to pick the music we listen to by all calling out our requests at once. It's hard to have lengthy debates over "who" is right when you can just ask Echo what year the Flyers won the Stanley Cup. She knew! It cracks me up when out of no where she adds "bread to the shopping list". What shopping list you ask? IDK... It's my only criticism because every once in awhile it seems to have its own agenda. But then again... Don't we all?

This is my second Dot purchased, which I use upstairs. Enjoy using it for a lot of my daily activities as well as my home WiFi lighting.

I'm super impressed with the Echo Dot! The size makes it easy to place in different rooms without being an eye sore and when connected to home control it allows me to control the lights and devices in my home by just talking to Alexa. Overall Alexa has great features, the dot is a good size and it uses a standard micro-usb for power so it's super convenient.

I have 4 of these around the house. I have them setup to work with Samsung Smartthings. These little device are nice but always room for improvement but this is just the begining of voice assistance and beyond. Speaker sounds pretty good for it size. my family uses these every day from timers to wake up in morning and even help with school work. Also first gen dot ran hotter this 2nd gen is cool to the touch.

I really am enjoying the dot. The compact size and reasonable price is what convinced me to try it. Now I want one for the upstairs!

I haven't used the dot myself but I'm sure it works just as good as the other just the sound quality is probably less sure to it's size

purchased two of these to give to give away as Christmas gifts - one to my parents who barely understand technology and one to my college daughter for her dorm room. My parents love it as they can know tell Alexa to play music they like, find out the weather and more. My daughter loves having it in her college apartment for too many reasons to list.

If only used as a radio, it is totally worth it. I find some of the House automaton and lighting items pricy, but we are still in early stages of product. It is tied in to my thermostat (inexpensive Honeywell WiFi enables), and several smart plugs. I use Prime for fabulous free music, and have purchased 3 more since 1st- plus 2 as gifts.

At this price, it is a no brainer to bring Alexa into your home. The Echo Dot is a great size for any location. It is easily portable. I purchased a case for it on Amazon. From adding skills to what Alexa already knows, she has made my life easier; from simply asking for the weather, converting quarts to cups, playing music to controlling lights. It is a must have!

I bought this for my dad for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! He has already ordered lights for his living room that connect with Alexa. He uses it every morning to check the weather in his area and play music from Pandora, and to shut off the light in his living room without walking around the couch. Would definitely consider buying another for the basement!
