I bought the first echo for myself and loved it! Then I had the idea that it might work for my mom who is blind and in a nursing home. It took her a while to figure it out but she really enjoy it ! She listens to music and news and books and sports. It has really changed her mood!

This is the second one I purchase. Both this one and the previous one were gifts. For the price these are pretty cool devices to gift. They play music pretty loud considering it’s small design. Alexa is also very efficient even when you call her at a distance.

I bought the Echo first. When I saw the Dot on sale, I bought it immediately. I placed in the Echo in my office and the Dot in the dining area of our great room. It is small and out of sight. Whenever a question about something comes up, we simply ask Alexa. I did not give it 5 stars because a lot of time she replies that she didn't understand the question. Perhaps future updates will make her better.

I enjoy this product. It allows me to play what ever song or genre of music whenever I feel like it. No more searching or making sure my phone is charged enough to play music. Also, it allows me to add things to my shopping list, to do list or calendar by just speaking. LOVE IT!!!

We are a huge Amazon product family and I currently own 4 echo dots. I love all the features that you can use on this device. I use them mainly for music, drop-ins and sleep sounds at night. We can't go a day without our echo. Great buy!!

Good voice recognition. Easy to install via the Phone app. Sound is good for one room.

This echo dot is amazing! Helps with so much around the house...including just being a music player for my dog when i'm not home! I wanted it for background music for when i was gone and found that it does so much more, especially as a timer while i'm cooking or just a simple clock!

Purchased the Alexa for my 19yr old daughter for Christmas. She loves it. It makes things easier like checking the weather hands free, asking questions easily to prove points, or simply to find out the correct answer. She uses it daily , and most of her friends ask it questions too.

We have 2 of these and have them paired to our Lutron and Phillips Hue system. It's great to control the lights when your hands are full and my kids love telling it to play music through Alexa. I would say the knowledge base for questions needs some work. Overall alot of fun for $50

If you’ve never used Alexa before like myself, you will be very satisfied with this echo dot. It’s easy to set up and does the basic functions it’s told. She doesn’t understand if we ask for a Spanish song which is a little frustrating but we are getting the hang of it. My kids enjoy asking her questions too. I wish it would be a little louder, but other than that I’m very satisfied.

This Echo is the best thing on my desk aside from my laptop. It does everything my echo does, accept it takes up much less room. It's responsive, syncs to my home security system, controls my heater/ac and has all my tasks, music and shopping list! It's my own personal assistant!

Echo is small, easy to use and great for the price.

Works great 95% of the time but sometimes it could use a little better word recognition as well as other phrasings for commands. Other than that its great.

I didn't not think I would become so involved with my Alexa Dot. It is extremely good for waking up and controlling my lights in the bedroom. it also have everything you need for a sleep sound machine and provides great information to start your day every day
