Once you have it connected to smart plugs you can control your home with your voice. And Alexa seems to always understand what I am saying and gives a quick answer.

Alexa is funny and informative

The Echo Dot is the low cost alternative to a wealth of information and music. Paired with a good Bluetooth speaker music is just a spoken word away. Microphones are very sensitive. I can talk to Alexa from 20 feet away. Did you know Alexa can whisper, This not a need but a cool want if you are a techy.

Everything an Echo does

They do everything the regular one does for $100 less. The only disadvantage is a slightly limited speaker but for an alarm clock/smart center it's plenty of speaker for me.

It's nice to find out the weather or play music without having to use the phone or TV. It's also great for setting timers while you're cooking or doing laundry.

We continue to learn new things everyday that the Dot will do. I also bought a Bluetooth Speaker and play all my music through our Dot.
