What can I say, this is a must for any smarthome. I have 4 though-out my home so I can walk about and still be able to control devices that are placed through-out. I really like the small footprint it has because its basically a voice command device and shouldn't be obtrusive in any way.

I purchased this as Black Friday deal and am well pleased with its ease of use and sound.

I was skeptical that we needed an echo device in our house, I'll admit I just didn't see the usefulness, but after breaking down and getting one we use it far more than I ever thought and our kids love talking to it to ask questions and que up music they like! Would definitely recommend!

My mom fell in love with my alexa and I got her one. It is the perfect size for her bookshelf. Easy to use and store and she has a huge room and the sou d is perfect.

I am very happy with my Echo Dot. I have the large Echo in my living room and the Dot in the bedroom. I was very surprised at how good the sound is without attaching a speaker to the Dot. It works the same as my large Echo and provides just what I was looking for in an auxillary device.

Bought this during the Black Friday weekend sales at a really good price and are happy that we did. Has most of the features of the other ‘Alexa’ devices and we were able to connect it to our older Bose Wave speaker to give it more modern, internet connected capabilities. Thanks, Alexa!

I bought this because I was curious and also based on the reviews. Cause I wanted to make my life a little easier, little did I know that the echo dot would be so much fun. I can ask it the weather, how to spell something, look up a recipe and control my smart tv. This was a great buy.

I loved this so much I bought this one as a Christmas gift! I have two of them, one in my home office and the other in my family room which is the larger one. The person I gifted this too called to let me know how much she loved it and is going herself to buy more! Highly recommended.

The Echo Dot is a great add on to the Alexa family. Smaller profile with all of the features of the larger Echo. I have several and use them as an intercom from room to room. Hey, just say “Alexa, drop in on family room” and it will connect with family room to start your conversation,

These things are the best. You can put them anywhere and they do everything from being a Bluetooth speaker, a voice assistant or control for your home entertainment center anywhere in the house. The price is right and the functionality with related smart home products isn’t too shabby

I never bought one for myself because I don’t think I need one. But I bought a bunch of these as gifts for Canadian friends/family. The voice recognition is quite finicky. One of them worked like a charm on playing different songs from Spotify (in languages other than English), while the other one was unable to understand much at all with the very same commands. I don’t think they get much use out of it.

This is a lifestyle changing device, if you have the services to pair with it. It's easy to use, and for me, it recognizes my voice easily. The echo dot is small and compact, so it's discreet in whatever room you put it in. The best product of its type on the market right now.

It’s cool my 3rd one I’m setting it all up for my home smart lighting etc. The thing is always recording what you say, it’s kept by Amazon. That’s how it picks up your voice when you say Alexa or Dot, so I’d unplug it if you don’t want Amazon to have recordings of your dirty laundry!

Having an original echo since the launch date we’ve found it mostly useful for mornings, news updates, and weather reports. The easy set alarm feature is also great for giving the kids timers. I expected this dot to be bulky as the first just much shorter with less speaker, turns out it lost a lot of the bulk and does the same job, grabbed this as a gift for one of my daughters, think she’ll love it!

I put one of these in my garage and hooked it up to my receiver via rca cable and now I just have to turn on the receiver and ask Alexa to play a song or album and she does! Works great. As long as you get good WIFI in your garage you are good to go. For 29 bucks you can't beat it.

I love this little gizmo! It can hear me from anywhere in my room and has no trouble understanding me (I have a pretty thick accent). The set up was easy, and after it connects to your network, you can ask Alexa to help you with further connectivity tasks such as how to connect it to a Bluetooth speaker. It seamlessly connects to my Ecobee thermostat so I can control my home temperature with just a few words to Alexa. I also love how I can ask it to play almost any song I can think of. Sometimes it can't find the song and asks whether I want to subscribe to Amazon Music, but it rarely has trouble finding the song. Over all it's a very fun and useful gadget.

I bought the Echo and the Dot. They were fairly easy to set up and get working. Alexa responded very quickly at first, but has since slowed down a bit (me too) for some reason. I'll have to check that out. The Echo is in the den where we have a corded hanging light that is difficult to access the switch. Bingo. Perfect for that. "Alexa, turn on the den light". The Dot is in the bedroom, on a table next to my bed and controls the plugged bed light. No more fumbling for the switch in the dark and is easily available for information, alarms, and much more. The sound quality from the Dot is not as good as the Echo, but I can attach a better speaker if I want. Other than the sound, the Dot has performed the same as the Echo, and is not nearly as large and conspicuous. By the way, the DOT is a fraction of the cost of the Echo. Is it a need to have? No, but it does make things easier and life more comfortable.

The Regular Echo has all in one good speaker quality. Echo Dot needs to be bluetooth connected to another speaker otherwise you're stuck with the speaker built in. Regular Echo has been as low as $79, so I would've preferred this over the Echo Dot since I don't want to keep a separate bluetooth speaker dedicated to the Dot.
