She uses it for music as well as to check the weather. The best part is I don’t have to scream through the House when I need her, just contact her through Alexa.

While Alexa doesn't "know" things like Google Home, you have the option of adding a host of 'skills' that give her greater abilities. She works with Nest and other products.

Very Smart Device

Great assistant

I also use other features to ask for information like news or playing media. I linked it via Bluetooth to my Bose speaker too for better media sound. I would like better integration with Apple regarding Apple Music though.

Music, lights, and an alarm....just a few of the amazing things that this little guy can do. Get one for every room in the house. Heck, even buy some for your mom.

The Echo Dot is great
