The Echo Dot is a great step into the 21st Century. While Alexa doesn't "know" things like Google Home, you have the option of adding a host of 'skills' that give her greater abilities. She works with Nest and other products.

Works as expected. Good voice recognition. Easy to use.

I bought this Dot for my daughters room and she loves it. She uses it for music as well as to check the weather. The best part is I don’t have to scream through the House when I need her, just contact her through Alexa.

I love this hands free device. I knew nothing about it before I got it besides I could play music on it. I can know also turn my lights on and off with it and play games on it and check the time and weather.

I love that I can check the weather, play music, convert measurement, lock my front door, set the alarm, and find out if a certain food my son just dropped on the floor it’s poisonous to dogs- all hands free

... and buy one for you. Turns out Alexa can be a lot of fun

This Amazon echo dot and Alexa is helping me in many ways, from playing music to interact with my security system. I also have to mention that my kids like to hear jokes from Alexa. In other words it's for the entire family.

I have linked this to my home automation devices like Hue lights, WeMo switches etc and all work great. I also use other features to ask for information like news or playing media. I linked it via Bluetooth to my Bose speaker too for better media sound. I would like better integration with Apple regarding Apple Music though.

Great entertainment. Enjoy not turning off lights manually.

This device is a blast to use, alexa is such a neat device.

I have two of these. My favorite use iAd as an alarm clock.

It works as intended but she's still learning there's a lot she still can't answer

Love the echo easy to use easy to set up. It didn't take long to connect to the Internet as well as set up the lights. Works great with my Amazon account. I have yet to purchase something from it but I probably will try soon

It is so nice to have Alexa around. For example I put a warm soda can in the freezer. And so I didn’t forget about it all I had to say was “ hey Alexa remind me in 30 mins to get soda out of frezzer.

We love Alexa!! No more alarm clocks sitting around!! Love having this echo dot around. Keeps up with dates, plays my favorite music, and so much more. Learning new things to ask Alexa everyday. Will buy another for other rooms.

My daughter who is five loves talking to Alexa to find all of her favorite music. It’s great because we don’t have to help her. It’s the perfect size to move from room to room. She loves to dance along!

Its a beautiful product especially for the price. It works well without an additional speaker in a quite room and it can recognise your voice from all over because of the 6 microphones. Its a value for money considering its price.
