I like the small size and the fact that you can easily hide it throughout your house. This being my second dot I do have most of the house controlled by voice commands. Love it

For someone that doesn't have a smart home quite yet, it doesn't help my day to day too much. I got it because I eventually I would like to integrate more smart home equipment into my house but until then the features this device has to off doesn't do much. The few things it does help with however are pretty cool. Such as setting alarm when I don't want to wake myself up and use my phone, and it checking my calendar alerts it's handy. The Skills that Alexa can learn are kinda meh from what I've seen. Mostly playing games and sleep sounds. I'll be more excited about it when I can control more smart home functions and the device might be more sensitive to my schedule on a practical basis.

Used Alexas throughout the house. Works okay. Sometimes she doesn't listen. She causes agurments but other than that. She listen when she want too.

Works great and I need to get more out of it but I need to spec time with it. Like the idea, need to set up though with a smart phone and not just over wifi like I did.

We have 2 Echo Shows, 1 Echo, and 5 Echo Dots. We use them as an intercom system in our house, and I can check our security system cameras on the Echo Shows, Our favorite features are the Alexa shopping list so everyone in the family can constantly add to the list when they realize we are running out of supplies, traffic and weather updates, Amazon music, setting timers and alarms, and background sounds for sleeping like ocean sounds. There are so many features every week that we are always asking Alexa what her new skills and features are. We are very happy with the Amazon family of Echo products.

This generation of Alexa isn't as stylish as the newer one, but it does the job. I attach it to a Bluetooth speaker and it plays my music all day

Got this for my mom who sometimes has trouble with electronics. She has a lot of fun asking it to play music and provide answers, along with giving weather details.

I dont use it that much and have mixed feelings about it's surveillance of me, whether I'm being paranoid or not... so I haven't jumped on the Alexa train yet. It does what its supposed to... and I'm still not too sure what that is. :)

This is my second echo dot and I love it. Functions as my alarm, radio station, and of course, my encyclopedia (not sure millennials know what that is).

Bought the larger version for my daughter last year. This size works just as good for what I need. Bought it on special so I feel like I got a great deal

Got this as a gift for my son and he loves it. He checks weather in the morning as well as various odd questions throughout the day and music. Would recommend.

Would recommend this item to anyone, I find it a lot better than Google mini.

I got the DOT for my 104 year old mother, mostly to remind her to take medication and to allow some on demand news. My mother is far from technically literate but has had no real problems in using the DOT. The DOT just works with a minimum of fuss.

I like the Echo Dot. It does lose the network connection periodically. Sometimes when Alexa does not know an answer, it will just not say anything. I would prefer she say she doesn’t know or can’t answer that. Overall, it has a great little speaker.

We use this for our alarm clock, weather reports, and quick news flashes. It has much more potential, but for the 30 bucks we paid for it it is definitely worth it.

WE HAVE TWO UNITS. WE LOVE ALEXA!! WE PLAY TONS OF MUSIC THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. PLUS WE HAVE ALEXA PLAY MUSIC FOR OUR DOG WHEN WE LEAVE THE HOUSE.

This was included in my thermostat. I never thought i needed an echo dot, but now that i have one i am considering buying another one for my living room.

I've enjoyed the Echo Dot - it's been fun and very helpful to get info quick.

I found that the Echo Dot did everything it said it could do. I am very pleased that I bought it. I have already purchased 2 more. I just with it had the hub also.
