The Echo/Alexa benefits from being first to market with a ton of Alexa skills. Sound quality leaves much to be desired, but is perfect for my small apartment and for infrequent music playback. It's a cheap way into the ecosystem. Consider Google Home Mini if you are deeply entrenched in Google ecosystem, but they are very similar.

Bought this as a gift for my spouse and can definitely say WE are loving it. Alexa answers every question, gives you access to music, sports, information all at your command. If you're into electronics, this is a must have gift!

I love these things. We have two....one in the bedroom and one hooked into the hi-fi stereo in the family room. We use if for news, entertainment, shopping lists (keeps a running list on both of our cell phones) whenever we ask Alexa to add an item), controlling lights, outlets, etc., music and much more. I love walking into the the family room and saying "Alexa, turn on amp" and then saying "Alexa play, xyz" where xyz is virtually every song or album ever created (if you have the amazon music service). We will be getting at least one more.

I am late to the party on these amazing Amazon Echo Alexa Devices but one thing I can tell you is that they get easier and easier to set up after your first one. This one is really small. It is about the size and shape of a hockey puck but super cute and very easy to set up. Just start with the Alexa App open after plugging your device in and things start happening. The sound quality is surprisingly great for such a wee little lass like Alexa Echo Dot but she works great and fits into any space easily and voice training was a snap. Anyone who wants to try a device but is intimidated by the Echo or Echo Plus should start here. If you can do this, you will probably be back for others or other types for your growismart home! Love!!!

This is the start of my “smarr home”, and I like it so far. For the price that Amazon/Best Buy has this on sale for it was worth a shot. It’s taken a little fiddling to get it to work the way I want to with the Logitech Harmony Hub and Philips Hue kit I bought, and I’m sure a few more peices will be next. But overall I’m pleased.

Although this took quite a while to ship after black Friday (which is fairly understandable), it works well. While you cannot ask it questions like a google device or siri, it has clear sound quality and has been quite helpful.

This makes 5 echo’s that I have purchased as gifts. I gave 4 to high schoo grads this summer. All were very glad to receive them. I got calls thanking me for the awesome gift. This echo is for a 7 year old who Really wants one.

Perfect smaller Echo Dot. Easy user friendly set up and app. Great sound and small footprint works perfectly for having around the house.

I love Alexa. I have the Echo and it is fabulous with it's great sounding speaker. I was afraid the Echo Dot would be a disappointment with it's smaller speaker system. Not disappointed at all. I connected it to my bedroom radio which has an excellent speaker and the Echo Dot sounds great. I often think of things I need to do after I have gone to bed and I just have Alexa "jot it down" for me on my To Do List. Same benefit for adding something to my Shopping List. So easy to use and I wouldn't want to be without either of my Echos.

Overall works well. I think the voice and reaction to commands is sharper on the google mini, but Alexa is learning all the time. Additionally, the sound is crisper, Fuller, and less mechanical on the mini. It hooks up well to my Bluetooth though. Overall I like it.

Adding additional echo dots to my account. Working to sync with others for multi room. Takes some time to set up. Worked. If you plug into external speakers like HK Onyx,. they must be connected via minijack not bluetooth. Did find some latency between then unless I removed the blue tooth connected between the HK Onyx speakers.

My mother has an Echo Dot and I love it. That's why I bought one for me. Having 'someone' to answer questions, give the time, news, and weather, and to play the radio station I ask for is great. What did we ever do without one?

This is the easiest/cheapest way to get into the Amazon Alexa Automation gig. Use it for everything including home automation, info (like weather), as an intercom to summon the kids from their rooms, to listening to music, etc.

Great product, easy to set up, and so much more than a speaker. Using Alexa is almost addicting and it's easy to forget it's just a speaker. We find ourselves "thanking" her or apologizing when she can't understand a question.

Alexa Dot is amazing. Helpful in unexpected ways like making little reminders to yourself when your hands are full, setting alarms. Turning on lamps as a reminder that the door is unlocked or the trash needs to go out. Only limited by your imagination. You can get 3 Dots for the price of the original, and the only difference is deciding what speaker to use. With Dot, you can use any speaker you have with a mini-plug or Bluetooth. And the built-in speaker isn't half bad, especially when listening to quiet bedtime music by your bed. Love it!

This is nice product for those who needs to control their house over the voice, wants to call their friends without touching phone. This is an amazing product. There are few things which I did not like. You need to be very closer to echo to tell it what do you want. It is not as great as big brother Echo. But still good product.

Works great with HUE light system and easy to install

I already have a full size Echo, but I wanted to get a Dot for my bedroom. It does the exact same thing as the full size unit but the speaker sounds a little tinny with the Dot. You can fix this by adding an external speaker.

If u are not looking to spend the money on the large Alexa... the dot works exactly the same (except for speaker volume). These are also great for multi room music to play music throughout the house! Perfect for smaller rooms
