We have installed several smart bulbs and switches throughout our house and turned to the Echo Dot to be a simple interface by which to control that. We have both SmartThings and Hue hubs and primarily use the Echo to control devices connected to them. In addition to doing an exceptional job for that intended task, we've also found ourselves using the Echo for quick kitchen conversions and as a kitchen timer. There are an endless number of "skills" (basically apps) you can install on the Echo, so no matter your intended use, the Echo probably has you covered.

I really like this product and can't wait to use it with the HUE

I didn't realize how much I would enjoy this gadget! I forget to say 'Alexa' before a command sometimes but I think you can switch that to another command.

Have the echo in my kitchen and bc the dot is so inexpensive got one for my bedroom. Sound quailty isnt as great as echo but does get the job done

After seeing all of the commercials, I decided to purchase the Echo. I love it. It is capable of a lot of tasks. It is a great item at an affordable price.

This is certainly not a necessity for most. It is affordable, but read its capabilities carefully. It is easy to set up and the Dot is an affordable option to the Echo if you do not want to spend a lot and have a good bluetooth speaker.

I purchased the Echo last Spring and my son couldn't get enough of it. He was in need of another Bluetooth speaker. Boy was he surprised Christmas morning.

Live it, I get my morning news, weather, traffic while getting ready in the morning. Music and news whenever. Can't wait to try it with smart home devices.

I have enjoyed using the Amazon Echo. It was easy to set up. We purchased one as a gift for my mother also. Talking to Alexa keeps us entertained.

Bought this for my husband who likes to listen to music. Not only can he listen to music but can do so much more like get the weather report, etc.

If you are a music lover this is handy to have around the house

My 5th Dot, plus an Echo. Also gave a couple of additional Dots as gifts. They function as promised, for everything from music to adjusting thermostats.

You can ask Alexa anything. Find information about the weather, sports, or the news. Also, ask her to play your favorite music. All you have to do is ask.

Our kids loved getting these as gifts! They can take them back to college to use in their dorm room and apartments. Perfect size for small spaces.

I enjoy using Alexa for alarms and music. My son wants one now.

The Amazon Echo and Dot products are easy to install, and easy to connect to home wifi and they are easy to sync with Philips Hue and Wemo products..

Got this for our mom to play music in her bathroom. She loves it and it is very easy to set up and use.

Inexpensive way to get into the Alexa family. Link it to a Bluetooth speaker and you've got a great set-up at less than one third the cost of the Echo.
