Once you teach it some of the skills as well as it learns your voice, Echo is very responsive, and makes a nice connection with your different apps.

So far I am pleased with the echo dot.We have 3 throughout my home. They are so small you hardly notice them.Oh ya,and they're smart.

This was a great purchase. I keep it in my kitchen. Perfectly matches my gray kitchen. Volume doesn’t go as loud as my echo but I love it.

We have no ambition to have a "smart home" so we make limited use of the device, but enjoy easy listening , weather updates and having other queries answered with such convenience. And, not a big financial investment

Easy to set up and use. Great for things like setting timers and reminders. Great for adding things to lists without having to write them down

I love the echo, I actually want to get two more. Why the 4 stars you ask? As amazing as it is, there are issues. Alexa doesn't respond when she's playing music. Guess she has a hard time hearing while playing. The skills are good but there are not very many and you have to enable them and then remember what skill to use. So say I want know how to get ink out of the carpet. I have to say Alexa ask good housekeeping how to get ink out of the carpet. Why can't I just ask ask her directly? If you do she'll say I can't find what your asking. Want drink ingridents you have to ask the bartender app and know what it's called. So it's still so so worth getting. I love the music ability even though she gets confused about my playlists. Once you learn how to use Alexa it's ok and lots of fun.

Got this device to work with hue as well as Cree nest thermostat Sonos system as well as neato robot vacuum. Love it everything works like it should

My buddy got the Amazon Echo as a gift and it was cool to see in action. I thought the Dot was much of the same guts but just missing the Bluetooth speaker, which it is but there is another caveat, if you want music you have to subscribe to a premium music service. You cannot use the Dot to stream music from your phone. The dot makes a Bluetooth connection to an external speaker and then uses wi-fi to connect to a music service. This should have been intuitively obvious to me when I thought about the device but I was caught up in the 'wow this little thing is cool' mindset. If you subscribe to spotify, pandora, or Amazon music and that is your preferred music source, you will love this thing, if instead you prefer your own music and playlist, get the Echo (which is very cool BTW).

The echo dot is a great product at a great price. The echo dot does all kind of things. It is like a personal assistant and bluetooth speaker in one.

Talking to Alexa makes it more than easy to play my music from multiple apps and music sources. Always gives updates and was a breeze to setup!

I can play practically any song I want on demand, and get answers to almost any question I ask. Connected seemlessly with my bluetooth speaker.

A great entry level product to enter the world of Alexa and making everything a “smart” product. Yes the sound isn’t that powerful but you’ll hear her answers fine. Great for a bathroom or small kids room

Yes it is a marketing tool, but it is also quite useful. I listen to music mostly but also to ask Alexa questions and add items to my shopping list.

A true product for a geek. I actually bought 2 dots, and two echos. Very happy - also bought the Hue starter kit for white - again, geeky as can be.

Works great. You can ask it most anything and it will give you the answer. It pairs nicely with my bose speaker, you do have to turn the speaker on.

Tried this out not knowing what to expect. So far really good and great price to. Like a digital assistant. If you don't have one, buy one.....soon!

Alexa can answer most questions. Great for checking weather in areas where our grand kids live and for places we want to travel.

I actually have four of these in different rooms of the house and they pair easily with my Bluetooth speakers - very handy.

The echo dot is extremely easy to setup. I am currently using it to control my lights (both indoors and outdoors) and my thermostats. Great buy.
