Pretty good voice recognition, we use it to setup a quick timer, check weather, events, appointments, shopping list, play music, tell jokes. Wish it was conpatible with more devices like alarm system and garage door opener

Great for controlling the thermostat and setting the alarm without having to even move from my comfortable sleeping spot.

I find my using this more and more each day. Simple operation and control. Once you learn phrasing it’s like talking to another human.

No other voice recognition can come even close. You got to have Amazon Prime to get the full potential of Echo...works great everytime...luv it.

Got the echo dot great price, does the same as the bigger echo with a smaller speaker but you can plug in an external speaker or headphone

Don't really use the Echo to do anything productive in day to day life. I ask it to play music when I am working at my desk. get sports updates, future weather or what's on tv. Things I used to do on my phone but now I can just ask out loud. Kids have the most fun with it requesting jokes and what not. Couldn't use Alexa as the command request because there is an Alexa in the house so it was changed to respond to Echo. Apparently, anything that sounds remotely like Echo will activate it. I have to unplug it when I am having conference calls because it would activate all the time and say I DON'T KNOW. Made that first conference call with it in the room kind of funny. All in all it is not that bad.

The Echo was easy to set up (but you do need a smart phone or tablet to do it). There are lots of things this can do, and I'm still learning....

Needed a device to listen to music in my laundry room. This was perfect. It’s connected to a Bose portable speaker. Love it!

I can't imagine my life without Alexa now that I've experienced having her... it's as simple as that ladies and gentleman, five stars.

I've only had the echo dot for a week, but so far so good. It takes a little programming. If all goes well, may add more to the house.

Nice little product. It was purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. Great for weather reports and playing music from his iPhone.

I like the fact that you can a list and do reminders without having to physically writing them down. I am still exploring all of the uses.
