I purchased the Dot as an alarm clock / music player for my wife. We have an Echo in the kitchen. Speaker is not as good but OK and the response time is noticeably slower. The price difference makes it worth it.

The Echo Dot is perfect for a smaller room and is able to sync with your main unit in another part of the house. Just right!

Echo dot is very simple to use. Talking to Alexa is so cool. I really love my Echo dot and I recommend this product. Alexa is so smart.

The only piece of tech in my house my wife loves. Helps kids with school and music and my wife now can't survive without shopping list

we got two, will add another - - even a small $20 speaker improves the sound, a $40 sound bar and you can play loud/in exercise room

Got this setup in the bed room. I will later setup the zwave switches so I can voice command to turn off lights when it's time for bed.

My son bought this for me as a gift. I really like it. I have Alexa turn my lights on and off in conjunction with the Hue bridge. It very cool. Does the same thing as the $180 one... no need to spend that much.

The Amazon Echo Dot makes listening to music and selecting your playlists so easy! This technology is worth every penny!

We like to listen to the FM station at night and they turn the power down so it has a lot of static, with the Dot it is crystal clear.

The echo dot does a great job of providing the basics. I don't use it for much more than that which makes me glad I went with the cheaper echo. The sound quality is good. I use it for music and weather updates.

It was great at first, but kept disconnecting from my WiFi, and also kept answering to the Alexa commercials. When it works, it’s great, but hate having to reset it up all the time.

My daughter was born blind and has autism; she can turn on lights, make calls, send texts, learn to spell words etc.

Very great speaker that helps out in every way you can possibly think of would give as a present anytime of the year

At this point you all know what you get with this little unit. Great introduction to the internet of things. Sounds quality for music isn’t great, but if you have a blue tooth speaker you can sync it.

PERFECT SIZE BUT IT DOESN'T COMPROMISE THE QUALITY OF THE SOUND. LOUD ENOUGH FOR AN ENTIRE ROOM OR FOR THE OFFICE!!

I bought two I still need to connect my second one there is still a lot to learn. I will update my review after more fiddling with it.

As advertised the Echo can hear from a reasonable distance and respond.. I use it to control my Logitech Hub, it is a lot of fun.
