I love that I can listen to music in different parts of the house, and that I can ask to hear specific songs

Get one. Use it. It is a nice device. U will have a bit of a learning curve to figure out how you want to use it. But u will.

The Echo Dot is a compact version of the full size Echo, which I also own. The primary difference in functionality is music quality...very good on the Dot but less so than the full size Echo. If you want better, pair it with a nice Bluetooth speaker and you not only improve the sound, you also gain portability of music. As more and more abilities are added to all the Echo devices, you are always up to date. As a solo device or as a second device, the Dot is a lot of bang for the bucks.

I LOVE THE INTERACTION BETWEEN RMS. I HAVE 5 OF THEM. I ALSO LOVE THE SOUND FROM THEM, AND THE QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK.

I love Alexa. I hooked it up with my harmony remote and now I can ask Alexa to switch on the tv with out even holding a remote

Got this for Christmas gift for family. Even set up wifi light control. Pretty easy to use and voice recognition is very good. It can faulter a bit with loud ambient noice, still not that big an issue.
