Love it!!!! I don't know what toom me so long, great apps!! Alexa can turn on my tv, and change channels. She even found my cell phone for me yesterday. Many great apps work with it!

I have a the regular echo and this is a great addition to our upstairs. If you are skeptical about an echo I would start here to try and out and upgrade to the regular echo as needed

LOVE OUR NEW ECHO! I have been watching the reviews online and checking with friends that have purchased the Echo to see how much they liked or disliked its features. Last person I talked to went on and on about all the things there were using it for and that persuaded me it was time and Amazon Prime Day was the perfect opportunity to go for it. Amazon did a fantastic job of creating this tubular info-taining command center! There are so many cool and awesome things its able to do that I'll hit the highlights that work for our household. First, we love that it follows your voice in the room (the circle lighting will show which direction it is 'listening'), the speaker is wonderfully balanced, so whether listening to music, the news or to Alexa speaking, I have nothing but high marks for its sound quality, given its size. Next, set up (after downloading the app to our iPhones) was quick, easy and very intuitive. The more you look over the app, the more you will realize a world of 'skills' (as Amazon refers to them - we've nicked named them "echolettes" LOL) that the unit is able to perform once they are turned on and you master the right sequence of keywords to initialize them. We've added things to shopping lists, while asking about the weather and our calendar of events and then asked Alexa to change the temp of our Nest thermostats in various parts of the house, simply by saying her name and then our commands, sometimes sitting in the living room or simply pass through - she is always there listening and ready. We've ordered some LED programmable lights and I can hardly wait for Alexa to help set the mood in the house, room to room, all from a simple voice request.

When I saw the Echo Dot at Best Buy after hearing so much about Alexa I had to buy it. I love that it connects by Bluetooth to my phone, Bose Speaker and can connect to other smart devices. Streams music when asked, gives the news, jokes and has many more functions I have yet to play with. I like that I can use it as a simple speaker at work for music as well. Definitely a great product for the price that I bought everyone on my team at work one as well.

The Google works really well for voice control of lights and streaming solutions. The Echo dot works well with music and control of lights away from home. Both will evolve over time.

I have an Echo and while the sound is better than the Dot, the Dot does everything the Echo does. The one criticism about the Echo seemed to be the inability to connect it to external speakers. Well you can do that with a dot. You can even connect it to a stereo system. Thank you Amazon.

Easy set up and useful, kids love it. You can ask many questions, play music. Well worth the money.

Alex is easy to setup and fun to use. What a fun way to make a grocery list. Once connected to your wifi you can unplug and move it and it will automatically reconnect to your wifi.

Had one already since last christmas. We use it every day, from checking the weather to trivia to timers while cooking. Just got one for each kids room so they could have their own.

I love the echo dot! It's like voice activated google! I use it primarily to control my music but once linked to your Spotify account it's like talking to someone who is controlling your play lists! Easy as pie to skip songs, change artists, change playlist, increase or decrease volume, etc. highly recommend. Not sure what the difference is between this and the parent version the "echo" but seems like this probably does most of what the big one does.

Its only been a week or two since we picked up the DOT but I've used it to pick a restaurant a movie and peek a the weather daily. Dot's always ready to serve! It's sort of been fun!

Since this is our first Echo Dot, we don't really know it all yet. But so far we are loving it. Got a good price on these and so I bought 3 of them. Great price for Christmas gifts.

Small but mighty, easy set up , down load two apps, one for Dot and one for the smart plug, 5 min and Alexa turns on the kitchen light, makes shopping list—ask it anything— so cool!

I bought an Alexa for myself and loved it so much I bought another two for each of my older daughters who love it equally as much as I do! Its great for homework, music, alarms, ect.

Wanted an Echo for a second home, but didn't want to spend too much for something I already have. Was initially reluctant about Dot, because I thought it does not have built-in speaker (or not a good one). But at $40 decided to give it a try, and was pleasantly surprised how usable （and passable sounding) a Dot is compare to regular Echo at much lower price. It does everything an Echo does, and can hook up to a better speaker if I so desire.

Have found it very useful. I can access my calendar and schedule events, use it as a timer, listen to music and much more. I can use it to get the news and turn on lights.

Had purchased the new gen echo but only to be disappointed by the sound. Returned it for the echo dot and it was sufficient for what I need it for: weather forecasts, reminder, timer, alarm. Don't really listen to music and if I do, will pair it with a bluetooth speaker

I got this thing for a steal on black Friday. It was a great investment as I connected the echo with my hue lights and can control them with just a simple turn off my light command.

I bought this device to use for my room and I paid a extra $6.00 dollars for same day shipping and I would like to say I am very satisfied with the purchase I made. I like the features on the Amazon Alexa dot 2nd gen because it is very easy to use and very easy to get reminders and set notifications and also tell you how the weather is and overall the device is very resourceful and in good and useful ways.
