Does everything I expected and more. I needed somthing to control my tech obsession. I use dot in every room in my house to control my music, tv, lights, and my thermostat. The voice control works amazing. The best part is you don't have to just use it with amazon products. It networks seemless with my other Bluetooth speakers and home theatre. Purchased a battery pack and even use it at voice control in my car. My two cents.. Well done Amazon!!!

Easy to setup and connect. Pretty easy to use but would be great if I didn't have to go look online for ways to interact with it. Alexa app easy to use. Speaker is very weak though so if you have any interest in listening to music, get an Echo or pair w/ your stereo

I really like this amazon dot I have 3 in my house and love how you can listen to music on all 3 at the same time and they can make phone calls and an intercom system for my home

The Amazon Dot is your miniature Echo. Combined with a blue tooth speaker which I truly recommend you get you will be amazed at good the sound is and how helpful your Dot can be.

The echo was exactly what I was looking for myself and as gifts for my loved ones. We love music and the echo provides what we need without being too expensive. Great product!!!

Very easy to use for information and to control things by voice. My only concern is you have to be careful what you say. It has turned on when a commercial was on for the Echo!

Having lived with the echo.for about six months now, and Alexa being a part of our lives every day, it’s clear that Amazon has gotten off to a great start and open up quite a lead over its rivals. I’m surprised at how intuitive most of the commands are. If she fails to understand, you can usually rephrase your command in a slightly different fashion and get her to pick up what you’re trying to say. Really the only major limitation I have encountered so far is web search capabilities. After a family gathering that resulted in everyone asking Alexa some random questions, we quickly discovered that limitation. The next best rival in this category is probably the Google home mini, and since it is attached to the great Google search engine, I figured it would easily become my new favorite. Well, not so much. And here’s why. Probably one of the biggest advantages the echo dot has is the ability to connect to a Bluetooth sound system. Being able to trigger music with a simple voice command that pipe through my own sound system is just awesome. Probably the next biggest advantage is thinking ahead in terms of smart home devices and skills/routines. Everyone is picking up smart plug in Wi-Fi power strip these days, and Alexa makes it super easy to not only control those devices, but set up routines such as “movie time” that turns on the TV, sound system amplifier, amplifier fan, and dims the lights. Software is developing rapidly in this category and I hope to see improvement soon that helps the Echo communicate more easily to pause my TV or control the volume.

Very easy to set up and easy to use. The info she gives ( weather/ date information) is useful to all in the house. The kids fight as to who will ask the weather in the morning.

Love this device! It’s small and compact and blends in with the decor much better than the full size. Alexa is so much fun and very knowledgeable all the time. Very interactive.

I bought this share with a friend. I have enjoyed having Amazon Echo's at my house, and they kept messing with Alexa when they came over. Trying to voice-control more and more!

I love my Alexa. Use it to play music, check the weather and to set alarms. So easy and simple to use!

Works great to setup timers within home and exterior low voltage timers. Very reasonable price; watch for sale value. This makes an excellent gift for holidays, birthdays, etc.

I was skeptical of this little guy at first, but I've actually found many uses for it in the kitchen. Now I can control my lights and Christmas tree with my voice! Pretty neat.

I love it. I have the 2nd Gen Echo in the main room and the dot in the bathroom so i can relax to music during my baths.I liked it so much brought one for my dad and godfather.

I absolutely love my Echo! I play a lot of music and it is great for that! I don’t know how I managed without it’. Also great for answering any question; weather, trivia, etc.

This is my second Echo Dot (first one was first generation). The new price point makes these a no-brainer. I use mine daily to check the weather, get my morning tech/science news, and listen to music in the shower. It also does a great job as an alarm clock. Note that the speaker quality is fine for basic Q&A stuff, but if you want music to sound good, plan to use this with an external speaker (bluetooth or wired), or get the full-sized Echo.

Got my first echo as a gift and I love it. It helps with telling the weather, playing specific songs and radio, and just answer general questions. Setup is super easy as well.

This fantastic little device is well worth the money. I've been able to quickly add things to a grocery list via voice, as well as turn lighting on & off within my home. Depending on your electronics and the skills available you can even monitor or manipulate your car! Not to mention that new skills are constantly being created, the future abilities are endless! The only reason for giving the Echo dot a 4 star is because of minor annoyances with the microphone picking up voice. I placed it centrally in my home and that seemed to help. I also wished the item could accept multiple commands at one time.

It works great, follows commands easy unlike Siri. I hooked it up to TP Link for my lamps and ceiling lights in my living room. Nothing like coming home at nigg and saying "lights on" and everything turns on, comes in handy when I go for a late night snack too etc. hooked it up to a jbl Bluetooth speaker and ask all the time to play random music im in the mood for. You seriously can't go wrong with this product, especially for the price!
