the concept is very cool and the price is reasonable however I believe there can be much more to be done with this gadget and it shouldnt be limited to the functions it does

Once I learned how to communicate with Alexa it has been fun to ask her questions and play music.

Bought as a gift and they love it. The voice commands work well and the speaker sounds great.

The echo dot is Amazon's product that uses the Voice- assistant named Alexa. It is a great product and so much you can do with her and she only gets better. I don't use her for home automation, so I do not know how well that is, but for the things I use her for, she has done well. I mostly use her for music, timers, alarms, news, and weather. I would mostly recommend this to people that have an Amazon Prime account. If you don't, I would say go for a brand that you use most often. Google has the Google Home which is neat. Apple has the Homepod. Microsoft is rumored to partner with Harman and Kardon to use Cortana.

Good range for listening voices. Accurate is capturing the words most of the time from all family members including children. Still needs time to grow in terms of search.

Convenient easy to use for kids and adults. Fun facts of the day, weather report by just asking, plays music, links to Amazon Prime, and cheap for all the options it offers!
