I really like to convenience of having Alexa answer my questions. There are a few questions she can't answer, but overall she's pretty smart!

I bought the echo dot when it was selling for $30. Setting it up was easy, but then I realized I jumped into buying without much research. Alexa answers most of your basic questions, no doubt - but if you want to enjoy it to its full potential, you need to buy into the Amazon family of services. You need Amazon music or a premium subscription with Pandora. I already subscribe to Apple Music and didn't want to shift just to enjoy asking Alexa to play specific songs.

Dot is so inexpensive now really nothing to think about. You got to have one.

This was very easy to startup and sync to companion unit. Works like a charm.

Got this during a Black Friday sale and figured it was a good time to start playing with smart assistant/home devices. For me personally, it hasn't been as enriching as I'd hoped. Yes, I can turn on lights with a voice command, but I easily could walk 5 steps to turn on/off the lights in the same amount of time. I don't have any other smart devices to play with so I've been using it more as a radio than anything else. Setup was pretty easy and took about 10 mins. Unless you have a specific use in mind, I probably wouldn't get it just for the sakes of having one.

Bought this for my husband for Father's Day and he absolutely loves it. It was on sale too!

It saves you a lot of time and effort when you just want to relax. You can sit down and just say what you want to hear. Get the news weather music with no effort.
