I put this in my husband's stocking for Christmas. I wasn't sure if he would like it, but I can say I love it! He can ask Alexa what the weather is today, and he can ask her again 15 minutes later, and ask again and she never loses her patience. He can ask her to turn the music up, turn it down, and he doesn't have to get up! She even tells him jokes, and he thinks they are funny! Every husband should have an Alexa!

First purchased google home. Thought this was the better of the two choices. I returned it after a couple of weeks. Got the DOT. THE DOT WORKED OUT better for me. The DOT interfaces better with my laptop, spotify samsung watch. I felt the google was a little limited. Best way to say it...it was like talking to your phone "ok google" and what you get is more or less the same as communicating with your phone.

This little thing is fun to play with, it's so simple. My kids love using to play music.

I've connected one of these in each of three key rooms within my 14 speaker Sonos home sound system. Wherever I go I can trigger that room or the whole house to hear any music I want to hear, or an answer to my questions to Alexa. Very nice interface to my sound system. I would like to next get it to trigger music from my obscure home library...they'll likely soon come up with an app for that too. Try it!

I purchased this and google home mini. I like the fact that you can use Bluetooth speakers with the echo dot which I why I prefer over the home mini.

We love having the echo nearby to check weather, control smart home devices, and play music.

We use it as an add on so we have Alexa throughout the house. Works well.

I do like my Echo Dot. It is responsive and has a nice versatility. It will get 'stupid' from time to time making me have to get very close to it and enunciate just to get it to tell me the time. However, by and large it is a nice convenience and has nice useful features. Some of the Apps are repetitive and not very easily maneuvered via voice control. Also there are some things that you simply have to do on the Alexa app on your pad or phone which kind of makes it beside the point. Overall, it is a neat thing that likely will only have increasingly more use over the years.
