The base for home automation

Activating skills to connect Alexa to the rest of my smart home was simple and straight forward. Being able to control my lights, fan, tv, etc with my voice makes me feel like I'm living in the future. However, If it weren't for the home automation integration I'd feel like the rest of what Alexa currently has to offer is more of a novelty.
