They had gotten one as an early Christmas gift, and had gone to Best Buy to get more so they would have one on each floor. It seemed so neat and I knew my husband would love it so I went right from their house to Best Buy and bought one. I can't wait for him to open it I can't believe how much fun they are not to mention helpful.

Interaction with Dot made me feel like it is part of the household. I really liked the intercom feature from room to room communication. However, I felt that Google Mini was better with initial setup. Also, Google Mini pretty much replaces Google web browsing as Google pretty much controls the web search while Amazon didn't have any such service (yet). Over all, for my home automation needs though, I liked Echo Dot much better...
