A better value than a full blown Echo

You can add your own speaker to the Dot which honestly makes it much nicer as the Echo's speaker doesn't sound good enough to me to justify purchasing one at its advertised price. The speaker that comes in the Dot is perfectly fine for talking back to you, alarms, and even music as long as you don't expect any bass.

How did I live without it

I can now turn my lights on in my living room from my bedroom, ask about the weather, open and close my garage door, listen to music and so many other things and all just by saying "Alexa..." And it's so small! Tucked it away in a corner and forgotten until triggered. I am so spoiled.
