I have the Amazon Echo and I don't like moving it around the house to listen to my music, so I bought Dot. She is very handy, but the sound is not nearly as good as Echo, but I knew this before hand. She does everything her big sister does. One caveat, if you want to listen to Amazon music you will have to have another subscription for the Dot. But the price to have almost every song in the Amazon library is worth it,

Alexa has trouble understanding some commands and questions. We mostly use it as an alarm clock and to play music. The default is to Prime music which is a little annoying - i.e. if the album I request is not on Prime music I shouldn't have to ask it to hunt spotify, it would be nice if it just tried there next without asking since I clearly connected the app to the Echo. It's solid, but I hope it's interface improves with time.

Works as expected as the Echo. Wife loves the use in the uppwr floors and to use as a back up alarm

Was able to get it working at work, great addition to the office. Important note, could not get it to recognize the main Internet connection which has 2 phase authentication, but the guest network set up just fine and stays connected! Was afraid would have to log in daily, but all is working great!

So far, I'm still learning my way around it, but I'm enjoying having an 'assistant'. It is quicker to get my calendar and the weather in the mornings, and with amazon prime music, it's handy for background music when I want to read. I can even get movie listings and times. There's a lot it won't do, but there's more in the works, I hear. All in all, I could live without it, but why not include a little whimsy in one's life?

Purchased this item and was very easy to set up. Ready to put more in the rest of the house

I like the fact that the dot can learn new skills everyday, specially with spotify and news apps

I LOVE BEING ABLE TO REQUEST MUSIC WHILE I WORK AROUND THE HOUSE. ALEXA TELLS THE CORNIEST JOKES BUT THEY MAKE ME LAUGH .MY GRANDKIDS LOVE IT AS WELL ASKING HER MATH QUESTIONS AND ANYTHING ELSE THEY CAN COME UP WITH TO ASK HER. IT IS ALOT OF FUN FOR ALL AGES FROM 1 TO 90. VERY PLEASED WOTH THE PURCHASE.

I love the dot it's compact and stays hidden well. Connecting to Bluetooth speakers is a huge plus.

This is a very good product. I like how it recognize what I say and delivery feedback with accuracy

This was first smart speaker, added two more 3rd gen. Echos. Tried Google Home. Despite being an Android/Google supporter, I could not back Home. Maybe cause it's so different/used to Alexa, or the Echo is superior. Regardless, no qualms with the Echo dot.

Need to calculate some bills she can do it. To help in the kitchen to converting measures

Good for playing music in controlling smart devices. Occasionally have problems losing the network.

Used in my office to control lights and music. Use at home for stereo (harmony hub) lights (insteon) and thermostat (ecobee3). Works fine. You need a pre programmed “skill” to match what you want it to do. Will not access direct internet questions for many subjects (which Siri can and does do). Also info not always correct. (Hours into blizzard on Jan 4, replied there is a 65%chance of snow) otherwise I like it.

I own the echo and gave this as a Xmas gift. Needless to say that the gift was very well received.

Bought one for four families for Christmas and all the kids love it. Great for grand kids at home.

The Amazon echo dot is a great way to get started using a personal assistant and home automation. Through the IFTTT app you can tie in your calender, to do list, order items needed through Amazon and more. Combine echo with a eckobee or nest thermostat or hue lighting and it makes life much simpler.

I love the options we have with alexa. Its like having a personal secretary at yiur finger tips!

We have the Echo in our living room and Dot in the bedroom. Love the sleep and relaxation sounds.
