Still learning but so far so good, Basic commands work really well. Some more sophisticated commands or compound commands are hit/miss. For example, "Alexa play the top hits from Roxette" works great. But "Alexa shuffle and repeat the top hits from Roxette" results in Alexa responding with the same response as the previous ... so did it work? Hard to say. Could be user error, but so far it's been pretty fun to play with.

Except for the tinny speaker, this pretty much meets my expectations. I have 3 echos scattered around my house and when used together, they don't ever interfere with each other. If you don't like the speaker, you can always plug the echo dot into a better fidelity speaker via 1/8th inch jacks (or bluetooth too).

We added this to the Echo hoping the two would work in sync with each other and they don't, but that's ok. We put this in the bedroom and added a blue tooth speaker with it. We love having the Dot in the bedroom, it gives us the advantage of the Echo with a smaller package and we're still able to do everything that we can do in the living room!!

This is a great product. It is fun learning all the new tips and tricks of the product. I love it!

Having previously received the Amazon Echo as a gift, I added the DOT so I can have the same great features in another room in my home. The built in speaker is adequate for basic responses but would be better paired with a Bluetooth speaker for music. All the features of the Echo at a third of the price.

I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift, ok for me too. I didn't realize how many things you can with the dot until we bought it. You don't have to buy the echo which costs more which I like. It's easy to program and it recognizes anyone that talk to it. I didn't give it 5 starts because now and then my family will be having a conversation and if you say anything close sounding to Alexa it thinks you are talking to it.

Amazon Echo Dot is a unique speaker to use. It connects to my tablet for increased sound.

We picked this up for my mother in law because she has used ours at our house and said that she would like to have one. So we got her one and she loves it. She loves listening to music and the bible on it. We also get her some wifi lights to put in her house to go with it.

This is the first echo purchase i have made. I have several nice speakers so I wasn't actually interested in purchasing the Echo, but the echo dot was perfect for me. It does have a built in speaker that would probably be fine for communicating with Alexa, but not for listening to music.

Its a lot of technology for a small price. I would like to know how it compares to the larger one

I like it but I do not use it for everything. It does not support what I want it to do with my Sonos system but have been told it will soon enough. I really use Apple stuff more so this was just a add on for a few things. Sound quality on this is not great, it sounds like cell phone speakers at best. However if your buying it for the speaker Im not sure I would wast the money, buy the large one as it sounds much better.

The Echo Dot is a great little appliance type item. It is so nice to ask it a question such as what the weather is today or the rest of week. You can even ask what the weather is in other parts of the world. You can have it play songs, set alarm to wake you up, and just most anything

Great for bedrooms but prefer the bigger one for the main living room and kitchen areas

I made this purchase with a bit of apprehension. I thought that it would have a hard time understanding commands with other noises in the room such as the TV or others talking. After using it for a few weeks, I am very pleased with how well it works. I am considering getting two more for other rooms.

I bought my mother an Echo dot for her Birthday. I think she really liked it,she says she does. It takes some getting used to but we caught on. I recommend this to most everyone because it saves a lot of time. You can get the news,music ask it questions that you would normally have to look up.

Works pretty good, doesn't know everything but it's fun to use. Speaker is fine for my needs.

Great for amazon prime or Pandora music. Alexa gets confused some times but don't we all.

We have Echo Dots throughout the house so we can instruct Alexa to turn on lights, or the TV, even lock the front door if we forgot. Alexa can even start the car in the morning to get things warmed up for you. If you are into home automation this is a worthy purchase.

We got these and a third gen for the house and love the features. I don't care if she listens in. I've got nothing but boring convos and it creates another low paying job for some schmuck who got laid off from his high paying job so what's not to love?

You can't get it better than to be able to ask for something and get it with out any lip
