The Echo Dot doesn't have good audio qualities. If you're going to listen to music, be ready to pair it with a bluetooth speaker. The main Echo is better for music listening - speaker is pretty good (better than Google Home). For general question/answers, the Google Home will be better. Alexa isn't as responsive as Siri.

I now have 4 of these in my house, set up is generally very easy, some of the devices take some effort to get connected, but once things are set up, it is a great convenience. Even connected it to my intercom system (easy) to have it work throughout the house.

Good but volume is very low. Maybe the third generation is better.

I love it!!!! I use us it everyday and pared with or amazon products it a 5 start.

My son enjoys this, He was slow to start using it bu the enjoys its functionality.

This is the 2nd echo I've purchased, with the new intercom feature it's fun to communicate from upstairs to down stairs, I use Alexa for so many things. Not only does she set timers and tell me the weather, she also control my smart home with voice commands. I love alexa

The minimal footprint fooled me into believing this mini-echo, minimal in functionality. Oh, I was a fool. You'll be amazed by how much you rely on this little devil, over time. It started out as simply a novelty. It morphed into my alarm clock, audiobook controller and white noise speaker for sleeping. It really does do everything. And I, for one, welcome our new Alexa overlords.

We gave my niece the echo as a Christmas present and she loves it.

My wife and I love our Echo Dot! The fun and convenience of having a personal assistant and thousands of songs at your beck and call is amazing! Our Echo Dot is just as helpful as Siri would recommend everyone have one. I would definitely buy again!

It does everything it claims. Cheap enough and portable enough. Great gift.

Good product but still lots of improvement needed.

It only works well with a speaker. If you are using it in a dorm then it sucks. I wanted one all year and when I got it I hated it . To even use the thing it has to be connected to wifi and has to have an app downloaded. And the app looks cheesy and so plain . Plus if it’s not a strong wifi connection it will kick you out and turn off. Which sucks if u use it as an alarm clock

Having an amazon echo and a show, I had to have one of these somewhere and we chose to place it in our office room where my children tend to do their homework, and play. Since, our kitchen and dining room is on the other side of the house, we use the dot as a intercom to inform them dinner is ready or whatever needs to ger a hold of them. So far, everything has worked fine!

Alexa is always adding new capabilities but right now is not nearly as powerful as Siri. It would be great if Alexa could respond to commands in other languages. such as Spanish or Japanese. It would be even better if it could have a language learning component to it.

I love this product, great value, great quality and so useful when you have more than one room in your house and Alexa is out of range. It's certainly not a replacement speaker, but for the purpose of enhancing Alexa functionality, this is exactly what you need.
