The Dot is great if you want a voice controlled assistant, DJ and home security device. The Dot plays music for you by genre or artist, turns on lights and other things when you have controller modules connected. Add stuff to the shopping list by voice Very Happy

The whole family has been having a lot of fun with the Amazon echo. The kids ask Alexa questions all the time. We have been loving the easy access to our music library through Amazon music. The shopping list feature is also handy. All in all a very responsive, fun device.

This unique product is a great thing to enjoy.. I have several and love them.

I would much prefer the google home over the echo. I am highly disappointed by this item. It isn't very helpful when you want to ask it a question, most of the time it will respond by saying "I cannot find the answer to that question". I like the google option from google home where I can ask it a question and based off of the google search it will find the answer. Most of the apps associated with the Echo, do not work correctly. I am glad I bought the cheaper one to find all this out. The only nice thing that I can say about this is that it does accurately play music when asked but google home does the same. I am very bummed by this since I was really wanting the Echo to work as I expected it to.

I was a bit skeptical to buy this at first seeing as we have too many electronics as it is, but I'm glad I did. Alexa is my alarm clock, radio, and source for daily weather updates. I love the 7 microphones -- I don't have to yell across the room for her to hear me!

Biggest thing pretty easy and works well with Alexa...definitely recommend this

Great price point to get this useful and fun digital assistant. Very helpful with lots of tasks, very fast response, and fun with answers to different questions. No need to buy the bigger Echo unless you want it to play music (Echo has better sound quality).

It's been great. I bought this when I got my Wink Hub 2 and I love being able to control things (lights, thermostat) by just talking to the Dot. I've also used it for way more than I thought I would. I get my weather every morning and enjoy hearing the news headlines.

It is everything I expected and more. Excellent for elderly.

This was my son he uses it as an alarm checks out the weather for the day.

First I had a google home. I thought I wasn't getting enough "assistance" and thought from reading comparisons that Alexa may be a better fit. I returned Google and bought Alexa. She is much slower in response, not as natural, and I found her less helpful. I ended up returning her and going back to google Home.

The Echo dot is a great addition to our home. We all love it for the vast library of music available from Amazon. It's amazing how many uses you can find for it. My neighbor has the Google Home and it's not nearly as comprehensive as the Echo dot. Over all a great buy.

I wanted to expand my Echo inventory around the home and this unit was an economical choice. I didn't need the more expensive unit in my office and paired it up with a decent wireless speaker at about half the price. Unless you just need voice updates, you will definately want a wireless speaker if you want to listen to music as the Dot is very tinny with poor music quality.
