I feel like I have a new friend. Alexa tells me what time it is and the date, sings me songs, give me the news and she even tells me stories with my name in it. We were laughing so hard. I would certainly recommend her to friends and family. She brightens my day.

The Echo dot was a gift to our 92 year old relative who has limited mobility. The voice activation gave him a sense of increased ability and we connected it to lights in the house which he could turn on and off just by voice command. An excellent gift and product.

Don't get this for streaming music. :) But I'd you just want a companion dot in other rooms you can't beat these. And in case you do want to stream music, they do have an audio out aux jack if you have a nice speaker you want to attach.

I liked it so much I bought a second one for a separate room. Mostly I just stream my radio station through them but it's also convenient to get quick answers to questions re. the weather, etc. The one in the kitchen comes in handy for converting measurements.

I like this version of Alexa better than the original dot

I already had an Echo and loved it so when I needed a new alarm clock for my bedroom I bought a Dot instead of a normal clock. I use it as an alarm but like getting the news and weather in the morning. Much better than a clock radio and takes up less space.

Still learning all the features of echo in general but it has made mornings easier. Kids can now check the days weather forecast while getting ready. Wife can listen to music via voice control over connected Bluetooth soundbar. Love the daily quizzes and facts.

Not quite ready for primetime but at $50 it's a fun toy to play around with.

The Amazon Echo Dot, has so many uses. If you know what you are doing, you can make the Echo Dot a great way to fill in when your own personal assistance is now around, lol. I love checking my email to find some new skills that Alexa now can do.

Speaker has good sound and it will let you know what is not hooked up to it

Even though 2nd gen still has a few kinks. That being said; I like it.

I have this for using Alexa Business. It is pretty cool and is near flawless. Getting pass the "big brother" always listening is kinda creepy. It is a great device for the elderly in helping them with tasks like turning on lights or other appliances.

for those who may already have and Echo this is the more basic version and as with the Echo the device has a lot of limitations. It can do basic stuff like weather reports, play some of your music and if properly set up may also control home devices such as lights. It is small but certainly does not have a lot of other functions and most smart phones can do similar functions.

We have a Wink system that was good for linking up all sorts of stuff: lights, garage, cameras, etc. However, with regard to the lights, since Alexa has a Wink skill, I haven’t opened the Wink app in FOREVER. turning on different lighting levels is soooo much nicer and easier when you can “ask” for it. Just wish it wouldn’t get triggered by the TV sometimes :)

Need to load her up with apps. but once done is scary good how she can be.

Easy to use, could have a broader knowledge base but it is entertaining.

Purchased for grandson he is very happy that I bought it for him.

I love the Amazon Echo but have that upstairs int he bedroom. I got a Dot for the family room. At first it was garble, which was strange, but that cleared up. What is strange is that she hears the TV. The Alexa commercials drive it nuts. I also had to quickly cancel an order that she made when the actors place an Alexa order on the commercial. So be careful where you put it!
