I have been using this for quite a while. Is useful for news updates music and my son uses it for spelling and general knowledge question when doing homework. I added a bluetooth speaker and it works and sounds great.

The Echo Dot is a great inexpensive option to expand Alexa capabilities into more rooms of the house. Alexa is a pretty intuitive digital assistant that continues to expand capabilities. The sound quality is OK, but I would not expect much from any speaker this size. You can always connect a better speaker via bluetooth if you wanted.

Alexa is a very close cousin of Google home with few additional skills GOOD- - Free World Radio service from TuneIn. - Good volume for a single room - 360 Alexa keyword invoke BAD- - Fails to understand a lot of keywords - Voice control for volume shaky - Light turns on by itself without any activation command

This is our first home assistant. So far we enjoy using it.

I got this as a gift from my wife from our kids and I love it so much I'm going to get another one for my office. We have asked a lot of questions the Dot doesn't know the answer to, but I don't think we have scratched the surface of what the Dot can do. It is worth the money just for the music it can play. You ask it to play any artist and bam, it's on.

Bought two of these for our boys bedrooms to use as a cheap intercom system. We didn’t need the better sound quality of the echo for our purposes. The boys enjoy having their own “Alexa” and no more yelling upstairs that dinner’s ready!

Connects to your WiFi. Plays your songs. Calls your friends with an echo. It tells you jokes, sings songs and plays games. It will answer any math problem, tell info on anything of interest. It goes on and one and gets better every day.

While not an essential household item yet, it soon will be! Love the integration with Spotify and the personal stuff like jokes and singing to us on Valentine's Day. The Nest skill needs some serious work. But she has become a part of the family!

Keeping shopping lists, music and family games are easier with it!

Wonderful Product. We used the dots to connect with our Echo Show and another echo. All work great. They all allow for the ability to have a household intercom system, which makes it nice when we're all in different areas of the house.

Good sound for playing music, limited capability for information.
