I purchased the Echo Dot to be the hub for my home automation. So far it has been flawless. I have light switches connected and Amazon Firestick. Great product to have. BTW, it also helps with my daughters homework.

I wanted another device to connect to Alexa in other rooms. I put this one on my patio and am able to play Sirius XM radio thru it. Find a good price as they go up and down ALOT!

The upgraded performance from an upgraded CPU is noticeable right away. Still able to side load APKs within rooting. So loading streaming apps into it is a piece of cake. The new OS also now display side loaded apps onto the Amazon menu. Before you needed to go to Settings and Application to load and run them.

I bought this product based on reviews and I am extremely happy with the performance. Best part is when my 3 years old son says "Alexa turn bedroom tv" and Alexa turn on his tv. He is super excited to use it. Thanks.

Even though it was not meant for music, the sound quality can be better.

We purchased this item for our 11 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it but we like Siri a little more. It doesn't really answer questions like my daughter expected. I think we (parents)use it a little more!

I love this little gadget! Music, Jeopardy, changing the temperature in the house and keeps growing. My daughter even used it for spelling a word the other day...an amazing, but powerful little piece of technology!

I purchased this as a gift for my mother and I thought it would be great for her since she is always forgetting things or in need of supplies when she is working on cakes. But my mom is not too tech savvy soo I think it overwhelms her to use the device. some practice, patience, and education is definitely needed.

So I have two of these and 20 hue light's. It makes setting the light levels really easy, you can talk between both and I use it for a daily news brief.. but buy on sale not full price

I have a Google-enabled smart speaker and the Amazon dot. The sound quality is much less on the dot, but it has different functions from the Google-enabled smart speaker, so it fills a void.

This new technology is fun and works pretty well. However, still a few bugs! Example.... if Alexa is anywhere near a television set, it will sometimes activate depending on what is being said on TV. - All in all, this technology is fun and very useful in answering many questions.

We already have the original Echo in the house and started adding the DOT to control varying sections of the house. The lack of a speaker is not a problem except for the line out option. This should have been a digital output instead of mono/stereo. The volume/sound quality suffers when connected to a receiver.

Had trouble initially connecting to my Bluetooth speaker. Had to call customer service but they eventually got it working. Other than that no problems. The speaker is terrible, so unless you have A better speaker to connect it to I would look for something else sound wise. But overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Have this hooked up to a Sonos Play 5 via line-in. It plays automatically through the speaker. The included Amazon music with prime (not the up charge) is more than enough for most music requests through the Echo.

We love using our Echo Dots in our house. The unit has all of the same features as the full size Echo minus the better speaker. The ability to use Alexa to turn on and off compatible wifi enabled products is great.

So far we love it. We also bought smart lights and it makes getting home with full haves easy. Or when you are two tired to get out of bed to turn lights off! We are moving in may and will be getting a Nest next!

Setup is very easy. I have it paired with a Smartthings Hub so Alexa can control Z-Wave light switches. Be aware that what you say to Alexa is stored in the cloud. You can review and delete anything that is stored.
