Our cell phones already gather information for targeted marketing so i got this. The echo dot is great. You can use it for just about anything. Set timers, reminders, send messages and make calls. It will even place orders on Amazon. We have 2 now and i got one for my mom as well.

I'd still recommend the Google Home to Echo

The Echo devices are nice if you do a lot of shopping on Amazon, but I prefer the connectives and features of Google's smart home speakers more and have about 12 of them throughout my house. I do like the Amazon delivery notifications, however.

I love the soft light clock on this in the bedroom

First one I have bought, will be buying additional dots for the rest of the house.

Place them all over your house to allow the Amazon spy network in Seattle to listen to your deepest and darkest secrets. Besides that, the dot is great and does what is advertised.
