They are small and yet mighty. They may be listening when they are not suppose to be, but I don't know that for a fact. The sound is very good in general and excellent for a speaker so small. The reception for voice is excellent. It keeps learning and getting better. If you are paranoid about privacy, don't get it or anything like it.

Alexa knows everything

You can get details on everything ranging from the weather to the latest sales at your favorite store. The Echo dot now has voice recognition - which is great. Also, it has home guard - which works in conjunction with your smart lights and some home security systems. There is so much to offer to name it all. I haven’t found a negative yet. You won’t regret this purchase.

Nice little device

Integrates well with my other smart devices (sengled bulbs, WiFi Plugs etc.) The only annoying part its notifications, you can't surprise your family members with amazon shipment as echo will have a "notification on" by default (you can and should turn of notifications though).
