Doesn’t hurt that it came with my new tv purchase.

I just got tired of it after using it for a day so i gave it away as a christmas present.

The other reason for the upgrade is that it comes with more language choices. We are multilingual in my house and the Echo Dot 3rd gen provides me more language options. I am pleased with the Amazon Echo products and hope that these will continue to grow in abilities as I am a technology enthusiast.
