The only drawback that I found with the Echo Dot was that it didn't respond well when playing music and you want to stop it and ask it to do something else.

Perfect gift for elderly parents or friends!

With her being elderly and staying home alone, it gave us peace of mind to know that she can call us from Alexa if anything happens (such as a fall), and she isn't near her phone. She enjoys the music and being able to ask about news and weather!

Great little Echo

It definitely seems much louder than my 2nd Gen Echo Dot thst I have to put a external speaker on via Aux as it's too low during music playback. I tried using the external speaker via Bluetooth but it oddly had a clipping delay like if she was saying "Weather in" you maybe just heard "ather in". Great for controlling smart bulbs and smart plugs.

Initially I wasn't really sure what to expect from this little device, but since purchasing it, it has been nothing more than a pleasant surprise. From getting instant weather reports every morning at wakeup, to evening reminders, to hands free calling to security, and endless more features, I'm absolutely spoiled and can't imagine going without. I haven't had any technical issues with the device and it's been very easy to use in general. Definitely recommend.
