Mildly useful. Creepy for constantly sending data

Sure it can tell me the weather while my hands are busy and define a word and set a timer or alarm or etc. All of these things that my phone can do as well. And it's creepy that it's always listening (for its activation phrase, supposedly) but there's no way to check that. It is constantly using data (evident from router logs which show both receiving and sending) even if it hasn't been activated. I'm not asking it to do anything so what data is it sending?

Nice Echo Dot

We have one in most rooms of our home and even in our garage and shop. The Heather Gray is a great color that blends with our decor, but also should help to keep it looking great for a very long time. It was very easy to set up and operate.

Much Better Sound

I already own the tall echo which has great sound, and 3 small echo dot 2nd gen with not so great sound. These 3rd gen echo dots provide a loud and almost stereo like sound similar to the tall echo. very pleased.
