Everyone in the family loves having echo dot in the bedroom for music, alarm, jokes, drop in calls! It's small and sleek looking too!

At the request of a nursing home activity director, I purchased four Amazon - Echo Dot (3rd gen) devices as gifts for some nursing home residents. It's a great device to provide residents with many listening options. Aside from connecting the device to WiFi the voice activated use is simple and easy. If my budget would have allowed it then I would have purchased more than 4 devices.

Love my 3rd gen echo dot. Great full sound and much better sound quality compared to my 2nd gen. Looks great on the table too.

I have several Gen 2 echo Dot devices in my house already. I purchased this gen 3 echo dot after listening to it at a friend's house. I was so impressed by the sound quality that I needed to have one of these. The sound quality is far superior than the gen 2, and i wished i had this model all around my house instead. It does not sound "tinny" or like you're listening to a cell phone and It actually has bass! Aside from the general look and sound quality, it does everything the Gen 2 does, it just cost more.

It does what it's supposed to do. Came free with TV so I can't comment on value. I use it as an extra speaker because I already have a few other alexa devices & they all have screens. Intigrates as well as the others & works as well, just doesnt have the visual features or as good as a speaker as the more expensive stuff, as expected of course

I've had the 2nd generation Echo Dot for a few years and decided to purchase the 3rd generation as well for a different room in my home. It performs well. There are not many differences between the "functionality" of the 3rd gen from the 2nd gen; however, I personally think it looks nicer. Also, for being so small and only $35 (on sale), the sound quality is surprisingly good! You wont get intense bass rattling the floor, but you can hear some lows. It's a great device!

Simple to set up and great for smart home usage with smart plugs and light switches. Love the music function. Got one for every room!

The third generation Echo Dot has much better sound than the 2nd generation. It is good enough and loud enough that I can listen to most music without connecting to an external speaker. I have 2 2nd generation devices and 2 3rd generation devices. Each are connected to my TV through TIVO and my Ecobee thermostat. Both 2nd and 3rd generation seem to have the same software. They are OK but often get the commands wrong, and you have to pick the right words. For example, if I ask Alexa to change the channel it will change my TV channel through TIVO. If I ask Alexa to change the station, it will pick some Amazon or other station. Also it will sometimes tell me that it cannot find TIVO or Ecobee depending on the words that I use when asking. The bottom line is that I like the Echo Dot 3rd generation especially for the $25 that I paid for it and an Amazon smart plug.

These little guys are inexpensive and quite powerful and useful. I have one tucked away on each of the 3 levels in the house. It's great for music, tracking your grocery lists, and I've connected to Eufy video doorbell and they all chime when the doorbell is pressed -- so I can easily hear from anywhere in the house. I actually like this 3rd generation flat design versus that big ball design for 4th Gen. And, the sound is good enough!

This small but efficient device is great fir a teens room tge quality of the speaker and ease in which to use is great.

What can I say about the Echo Dot? It works and is quite versatile. I use mine mostly to play music and get weather reports. With Amazon Music and TuneIn Radio (and other sources) I just about never need an FM tuner. And Alexa turns my lights on and off. She doesn't make me breakfast, but if I bothered to, I could have her start a coffee pot or other appliances in the morning. I think my wife may be jealous of her (not!).

Great little item thats easy to program and use. My favorite use is as a backup alarm. It has saved me several times!
