    I like having these around the house. I can message or talk to the kids from work, set an alarm using Alexa, the kids can ask whatever to do their homework with, how to spell etc. Alerts us when a package arrives cause UPS never knocks or rings the doorbell. Very useful! Best Buy gave one of these free too with a purchsase!

    I just love my echo dot. Alexa can answer any question you may ask. Plays songs, tell her what song you want to hear, and she plays it. Tells the weather, answer trivial questions, and do many other things. I like that she has voice recognition, and will respond to just the voices you want her to.

    I wouldn’t have bought this since I previously received a Google Home Mini as a Xmas gift but I received this as a free add-on item when I purchased my Ring alarm. For me both the Mini & this Dot do pretty much the exact same thing except for 2 things. 1, I can activate/disactivate my Ring alarm through this Dot. I believe they are both technically owned by Amazon so it makes sense they work together & not the Google Home Mini & #2, when you ask them to tell a joke, Alexa is funnier than Google.

    I bought an Echo Show 8 (Sandstone) for my Mom for Xmas, then bought an Echo Dot gen 3 (Charcoal) and now am Echo Show 8 (Charcoal) for myself! This device is amazing, especially if you're really into listening to music! Alexa is something special and her AI is pretty advanced. The sound is very clear and I highly recommend to all ages. You won't regret it!!!
