Gen 3 speaker and mic is better then Gen 2. When asking Alexa to recognize your voice make sure you mute the mic on all dots when she is asking you questions. Her saying Alexa to herself will disrupt anything shes saying and will activate all the other dots around the house. Over all love this item. Grouping, routines and timing will be hard at first but you will get the hang of it. There are many vidoes on youtube that help learn Alexa and how to build a routine.

It has a nice sound for such a small streamlined speaker. Can be picky sometimes when a question is asked or when it comes to wording. Would be better if there was a rechargeable battery as it has to continuously be plugged in.

My youngest start talking in order to ask for his favorite music to Alexa. Be careful to activate safe guards for buying stuff, my 4 year old endup buying several storybooks before I noticed the purchase. Never the less excellent value.

Have had other Dots and was unimpressed with sound quality. This new gen is much better. Easy to set up.

I love the Echo Dot. The mics are very sensitive, speaker is excellent, does not takes great deal of space.

I bought one of these to try it out and was having so much fun with it that I went back to buy another one. It was easy to set up the first one and even easier to set up the second one. I subscribed to the Unlimited Music app and it is great. One subscription works for both of them. While I'm working or just relaxing I can tell Alexa to play a certain song or a shuffle of songs by artist, year or category and I can even have the same song playing on both at the same time.

Upgrade over 2nd generation is noticeable. Speaker sounds great. Product looks and feels good. Have three in the house now.

Alexa is a great addition to any home! The new 3rd generation is a little more sleek looking, and has better built in sound.

Sound quality and design is superb. My kid enjoy speaking with Alexa. 4 star Jz because not able to use YouTube music with on it and have to use amazon music subscription as well.

Echo dots are great gifts and great little devices. I have tried the 3rd and the 4th Gen dots. These are still a good deal (especially on sale or as a bonus gift for a Best Buy or AMZ purchase. The kids love asking "Alexa" random questions, and sometimes her responses are entertaining for adults. I more appreciate using these as little music devices in random places in the house.
