Love this Alexa. Easy to use. Sound is great. Very easy to set up.

I've had the 2nd gen dot for a while in my home and just replaced it with two new 3rd gen dots. one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The device itself is more aesthetically pleasing and the speaker on this one is way better but my only complaint I suppose is that they have seemed to be a lot more prone to not working right than the last one I had. At times, she may not hear the wake word, other times shes way to sensitive. The follow-up command seems buggy, sometimes working and at other times not. Things she used to be able to control she cannot "communicate with" Keep in mind that these issues seem sporadic, sometimes non-existent and then giving trouble the next. These things could potentially be fixed in future updates though. Just a comparison of mine from my 2nd gen to my new 3rd gens.

Easy set up. Portable. Small unit with a big sound. It made for a great Christmas present!

There third verison of the dot does sound a litter nicer than the previous generation. It looks a little sleeker as well. These are nice beside the bed as alarm clocks, voice assistanst, and a little music as well.

While the functionality is the same, this is a worthwhile upgrade simply because of the improved sound quality over the previous version Echo Dot. The unit is not much larger, but it feels more solid and the sound is 10 times better. It doesn't sound "tinny" like the previous model and even has an ok amount of "bass" for a speaker this size. The only change I don't like is that the 3rd Gen Dot uses its own proprietary AC Adapter instead of using a USB cable like the previous version.

This is the third echo in my house. There are a lot of reasons to have these devices other than ask Alexa. Having these spaced throughout the house allows me to have music piped through every room without having to crank up the volume. I love soft classical which doesn’t translate as well as rap at high volume. Don’t get me wrong, Alexa is ok. Being able to turn on or adjust lights while entering, leaving or in a room or responding to a doorbell press without having to run to the nearest speaker or break out my phone is also a thing. Having the Zigbee hub built into the show allows me to control my smart home from any room. I also like having cameraless devices in private spaces.

this is a great item for rooms in house we ask and get quick responds. also works to power electrical devices.

I like the Alexa. It’s easy to use and speaks great. I just don’t like that I have to repeat my saying when I request some music artists. Alexa is fun to use when you pay for extra trivia, games and quizzes. Great item.

The Generation 3 has a vastly improved speaker. It is easy to set up and it looks much nicer than previous generations.

The sound on this echo dot is WAY better than the 2nd generation. It pumps up really loud and easier to hear too!

I have several these around the house and am always asking it questions. Usually out of curiosity and sometimes because I really need to know. Always comes in handy when turning on and off lights and setting alarms and timers. I hope it's not eavesdropping, but I really have nothing to hide. Also nice, it being from Amazon, you can use your voice to order from Amazon. Just don't let small children order anything from Alexa

I have had the previous 2 Amazon Echo versions. 3rd generation device is more sleeker with improved functionality.

Got this as an add-on to my eero mesh wifi. Easy setup and operation with the app. Use it mostly to play music and general info. Really good sound for its small size. Terrific for under-counter or desktop.

Easy to use and worthwhile to have. Great for music, local weather, timer and other uses.
