I have one of these in just about every room of my house now (eight in total) I use these to change the temperature in the house, turn on lights, set the security alarm, and even ask it "how many teaspoons in four ounces" while in the kitchen, etc Pretty nifty capability for the price. I even have them juiced into my pandora account and can play whole house music simultaneously while hosting parties.

love the voice control on it. the fact that you can control your house with it is amazing.

This came With a security system we bought which was a pleasant add. these are better than the older dots in quality of sound. I generally pay more, but great for additional coverage to our Shows, for a kid, or in this case for my Mom to adjust to as I gave her smart bulbs and Ring security system. Sure I am going to get a lot of calls from her on all this at once. But is easy to set up

I have an echo dot in almost every room around the house. Once connected to the internet there is almost nothing this smart device can not do. If I leave my iPhone or iPad upstairs I can rely on the echo dot to still turn on and off lights, adjust the thermostat, set the security alarm, add dates, appointments and notes to my synced calendar and notes. I can page people in other rooms instead of healing around the house. It literally connects to almost everything my phone does. Such as Spotify, pandora, amazon, xm radio, even my phone through the Alexa app. It’s a welcomed addition to my apple home. For those that may be skeptical, give a try you’ll like the compatibility and versatility it has with apple and androids.

This is a pretty helpful lil guy right here, i was looking for something for my girl for xmas and i didnt really wanna go all out on one thing. So this was one of several and im excited for her to get it. I have my own and its connected to my lamps and tv and thermostat and once its all hooked up it feels like im literally living on a spaceship where i can command it what to do lol!! The best buy staff also hooked me up with a smart bulb on the house...love it!

Its such a small speaker and the sound improved a lot in this model Works great for small areas

Great for music but the bass makes Alexa inaudible. It can be improved a little by reducing the bass level in the Alexa app however I still prefer the 2nd generation over this one for Alexa commands.
