MAKES MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER

Weather reports, AMAZON Deliveries, fact checking, can turn on and off lights, stream music from many sources and so much more! What it does not know it can learn on the program that teaches it about your interests. Wonderful add on to making my retirement so much easier. One of the best features is the audio, no more typing and searching just ask Alexa!

It is a definite upgrade over the gen 2 model in about every way possible. For home automation I think it works great but if you are one to ask for or need more information I would suggest a google home. I honestly have both setups and I use the echo dot a lot more. It is a great device especially if you have already vested into the amazon ecosystem.

Best advice though, change her name. Don't keep it as 'Alexa' or everytime a commercial comes on, OR someone with a name similar is said, she will chime in and scare the crap out of you, lol.

Need information, ask what you need! Need cheering up, ask for a joke! Can't remember stuff, create a list! Baking a cake, set a timer! Forget people's birthdays, schedule a card to arrive in time!

It seems like the reaction when you request a command is a bit slower though. Overall satisfied with my purchase.

Kitty Loves it

She likes music during the day. Perfect. I don't use it for anything else. Actually, it's cool. I know it's capable of much more. I won't use it for anything but playing music. The sound is really good. I'm serious about the Kitty.
