These things are so handy to have around the house. We have several of them scattered around, although this is our first 3rd Gen. No noticeable differences in functionality from 2nd Gen. If you can deal with Amazon monitoring all your conversations, it is great to always be able to shout out questions, like "how's the weather", "how many tablespoons in a cup" or "what time is the Broncos game tonight".

I’m sold on the Echo Dots. They are the perfect, insanely affordable, smart speaker to link throughout your apartment or house. I have one in the kitchen and one in the kid’s room to play their favorite music to get them to sleep. Amazon definitely stands by this product so if you have issues you can contact Best Buy and also let Amazon know.

solid unit for the money when you get it on sale... Once you figure out how to get is set to play your favorite radio stations and or using the iHeart radio programming you'll be using this a lot

I love this thing, hook up was easy and it has a great sound for such a small speaker.

This amazon echo was purchased for my mother - she's 75. It's great because she uses it for a timer (she can never hear the timer when it goes off in the kitchen); she loves saying "Alexa, play Elvis". She gets her weather easily and we even use it to "drop in" one another. It's so simple and fun for her to use.

This was easy to setup. Has awesome sound. So great I bought another one.

Better ergonomics and better speaker than the previous 2 versions. Alexa capabilities are improving all the time, still a way to go. Pairs with a lot of other smart gadgets for the home.

This echo was easy to connect and my kids love it. It is mostly used for music.

I have two other Alexa/Echo devices. I purchased this one during the Christmas Sale so it was cheaper than usual. I purchased it to use in the garage to listen to streaming radio - works perfect. It hangs on my peg board - I use voice to turn it on and voice to turn it off. The only thing I'm not sure about how the heat / humidity will will have an effect on it later on.

Got this free when bought a tv, gave it to my dad as a satellite to his Alexis it will dial a number for you if you fall and tell it to, so it is a good option for elderly living alone

My mom has a stroke that affected her vision and she was in the hospital where we could not visit to help her. The staff was always too busy. We got her an Alexa and she was able to start calling family and friends. Really helped to lift her spirits. Now she is home and we have it set up to turn her lights on/off too. Don’t know what we would have done without it

I like the size. Alexa has some fun skills. Volume pretty loud. Just wish it would change the channel on my TV. Alexa sometimes ignores commands.

Better sound and responsiveness than my 1st Gen Echo dot, love this version! Let's not forget that it comes in a variety of colors, some are kid friendly with additional parental controls. The AI is greatly improved as well, now you may address Alexa in different languages and get answers back in the language it was spoken to. I do reccomend the upgrade.

Received this as a gift with a television purchase and love it. It was a big hit during the holidays when I used it as a speaker for music playlists. It also connects to endless info and is a nice research assistant that you don’t have to pay.

Great sound and easy to set up. We are using for intercom system in the house.
