We have these in all bedrooms and living room and they are good for what they are supposed to be used for. Wait for a sale for maximum value.

Continuously learning new things that Alexa is able to do. It’s overwhelming at first to figure out all of the possibilities but the app is pretty user friendly.

The audio quality has vastly improved from the previous generation and it has become even more intuitive with my verbal requests. I love that I can control all my wi-fi enabled wall sockets from one place! If you are looking to make your home a smart home - The ECHO is the BEST way to start.

I really like this for reminders and such. I do listen to podcasts or books on it, but you'd want a better speaker if you are looking for something to listen to a lot of music. It does occasionally light up and "listen" when I did not activate it, but what can you do-Amazon is creepy like that. It synced well with my Fire tv and Amazon plugs, it is spotty on Kasa or other brands of plugs. Overall, I like it for smart home and general use. Plug it in and easy set up.

I have an echo dot in every major room in my home (all three bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and garage). The idea is to be able to listen to NPR (or any music or other type of programming) in any room with just a VOICE REQUEST! GREAT! I know there are tons of "ALEXA SKILLS" that would make my "echo network" even more useful...i'm sure I'll get around to learning some of them. For now, I am as happy as can be just being able to listen to news, get the weather, and a get a breakdown of my schedule for the day (oh yeah, it'll sync with your calendar and remind you of what's up). NICE JOB, AMAZON!

Easy for older spouse to "set an alarm clock" by just giving Alexa commands. I would recommend to the same seniors who had a VHS with blinking 12:00.
